This study was carried out on two species of the Hygromiidae family Monacha
cantiana and Candidula gigaxii collected from six sites in three central Iraq
provinces (Baghdad , Babylon and Karbala) . A total of 1318 individuals of Monacha
cantiana and 173 of Candidula gigaxii have been examined during the study period
from October 2013 to July 2014.The study included estimation of species relative
abundance, population density and relationship with some physico- chemical
properties of the soil; temperature, moisture and pH.
The Monacha cantiana was present at all sites but with varying numbers, while
Candidula gigaxii was confined to only three sites: Aljadiriyah and Zafaraniya at
Baghdad, and Hindiya dam at Baby

This paper presents the effect of Cr doping on the optical and structural properties of TiO2 films synthesized by sol-gel and deposited by the dip- coating technique. The characteristics of pure and Cr-doped TiO2 were studied by absorption and X-ray diffraction measurement. The spectrum of UV absorption of TiO2 chromium concentrations indicates a red shift; therefore, the energy gap decreases with increased doping. The minimum value of energy gap (2.5 eV) is found at concentration of 4 %. XRD measurements show that the anatase phase is shown for all thin films. Surface morphology measurement by atomic force microscope (AFM) showed that the roughness of thin films decrease with doping and has a minimum value with 4 wt % doping ratio.

Three mesoporous silica with different functional group were prepared by one-step synthesis based on the simultaneous hydrolysis and condensation of sodium silicate with organo - silane in the presence of template surfactant polydimethylsiloxane - polyethyleneoxide (PDMS - PEO). The prepared materials were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and nitrogen adsorption/desorption experiments. This research involves the study of permeability declination as a result of kaolinite due to the changing in pH in the Zubair reservoir (Lower Cretaceous) during the secondary production by water injection method. Four wells and six core samples within the North Rumaila field are studied, Minerals have been diagnosed by XRD and this specific site of clay minerals was diagnosed within the core samples by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
