Abstract

One of the most common problems facing the translator is the identification and subsequent search for correspondences of phraseological units. The paper is concerned with a linguistic analysis of  the blurbs, used in advertising English and Arabic novels.  A blurb is an advertising persuasive text, written on the back cover of a book. The aim of the study is to diagnose the real level of technology usage in teaching and learning EFL at university from teachers and students’ viewpoints, and see if it is possible to achieve something of the researchers’ dream - accessing top universities. The results have shown that the reality of using technology is still away from the dream.
