Conflict of characters in the works of Jacob Steinberg story: סכסוך הדמויות ביצירותיו הסיפוריות של יעקב שטיינברג

A character is one of the most important pillars of narrative production. Most critics believe that a character is the focus of events.

Jacob Steinberg, a Jewish writer who is Ukrainian by origin, wrote many stories, most of which spoke about the lives of Jews in the diaspora, especially in Ukraine. The environment there has been reflected in his stories.

Steinberg focused on the role of characters in shaping these productions.

In this study, we discuss the conflict of characters in Steinberg's stories. This conflict is characterized by different trends and goals. There is a conflict with the environment, a conflict with society, a conflict with the self, a conflict with strangers, etc. This conflict of characters is the starting point for the relationship between the elements of these products.

Steinberg drew a character , especially a woman's figure, by diving into her depths and knowing the finer details about her. Through this we can know the orientations of that character, which in turn draws to us the form of literary output.

Jacob Steinberg used characters as a means of influencing the reader's ideas through the great role played in the course of events for literary work.

Numbness of the Mind Paradigm in Haruki Murakami’s After the Quake and Iraq’s After the Quake

Haruki Murakami (1949-present) is a contemporary Japanese writer whose works have been translated into fifty languages and won him plenty of Japanese and international awards. His short stories are well constructed in a weird realistic manner and are mixed with elements of surrealism. His novels and short stories fall under the genre of magical realism. One of the major revolving themes that Murakami wrote about was the haunting feeling of emptiness and disconnectedness in a world which seems to care much for materialism and self-interests.

The paper explores two of Murakami’s short stories in his book After the Quake (2000) and the relevance of their themes and characters to Iraq after the q

Safeguarding the intangible heritage during armed conflict

There are many mechanisms that can be used to safeguard intangible cultural heritage during armed conflict, either indirectly through the international texts of armed conflict, from the perspective of protecting customs, traditions and religious beliefs, or directly by incorporating this heritage into UNESCO regulations. This heritage can also be preserved from the concept of human rights principles that can be applied during armed conflicts. Moreover, the best way to preserve this heritage is to prosecute and punish violators of the provisions of safeguarding this heritage, whether in national criminal courts or international criminal courts.
