Methods of Teaching Conversation in Russian Students Speaking Arabic: Методы преподавания говорения на русском языке в арабской аудитории

      This paper tackles methods of teaching conversation in Russian to students speaking Arabic. It analyses the differences between the two languages, as well as the difficulties and major errors faced by Arabic speakers studying Russian. Particularly, it looks at the difficulty of transforming spoken language. Finally, the paper suggests ways for teaching spoken language and treating the reasons behind making errors.

Аннотация

          Данная статья рассматривает методы преподавания говорения на русском языке для носителей арабского языка. В статье анализируются различия двух языков, а также основные проблемы и ошибки, с которыми сталкиваются носители арабского языка при изучении русского, в частности воспроизведения устной речи. Наконец, статья предлагает методы, направленные на обучение устной речи и устранению причин, по которым совершаются ошибки.

Technology Usage in English Language Teaching and Learning: Reality and Dream

The aim of the study is to diagnose the real level of technology usage in teaching and learning EFL at university from teachers and students’ viewpoints, and see if it is possible to achieve something of the researchers’ dream - accessing top universities. Two questionnaires have been used to measure the range of technology usage in Colleges of Education for Women, Baghdad and Iraqi Universities, and College of Basic Education. The results have shown that the reality of using technology is still away from the dream. The results have been ascribed to two reasons: The first is the little knowledge of using technology in teaching, and the second is that technology is not included in the curriculum.

Abstract

         Theoretically, the aim of the paper is identify linguistic expressions, such as proverbs, wise sayings, and popular sayings, used by the playwright  A. N. Ostrovsky , along with their translations into Arabic by the Iraqi translator  Abdullah Habbah and the Syrian translator HashimHumadi.
