Title Semiotic in Creative Texts

Contemporary researchers realized the importance of the title. Many researches and studies concerned in titles and their analyses on the structural, semantic and pragmatic levels have been developed. Title gives a vital assistance to control the text harmony and to understand its vague aspects. It is the axis which re-generates itself, grows, and re-produces itself; as if it were a head for a body.

Title has strong relation to the reader- waiting horizon, multiplies as many levels of understanding are there. The horizon of waiting is limited by the title, basically, to be the first reason for the text entrance, as the first thing attracts the reader is the title.

Approaching title scientifically and objectively is impossible, but only through semiotic approach which deals with titles being signs, signals, symbols, icons and metaphors.

Under the light of these facts, semiotics dedicates vital importance for titles being procedural terms within the literary text approach.

Evaluation of total oxidant status and antioxidant capacity in sera of acute-and chronic-renal failure patients

Abstract<p>Renal failure is a disease of the kidney, in which the renal excretory function is failed to process due to depression of the GFR. Renal failure is divided into acute and chronic depending on the period of the disease. The study was designed to investigate the level of oxidative stress in RF patients. Study of Limestones from the Nfayil Formation in Bahr Al-Najaf Depression and Suitability for Thermal conductivity

     The evaluation of the Nfayil limestones in Bahr Al-Najaf Depression as construction materials was done on 15 sites distributed over a region. The study included field and laboratory aspects. The field side included collecting information about the study area and samples. As for the laboratory side, laboratory tests were conducted to study the thermal conductivity of samples by a device called Lee’s disc in the Tikri University. The thermal conductivity results ranged between 2.34 and 0.27. The rocks are of high thermal insulation at low temperatures and low insulation at high temperatures according to the specifications of the suitability of limestone for thermal conductivity standards (ASTM C 1057-03-2010).

An Artificial Neural Network for Predicting Rate of Penetration in AL- Khasib Formation – Ahdeb Oil Field

The main objective of this study is to develop a rate of penetration (ROP) model for Khasib formation in Ahdab oil field and determine the drilling parameters controlling the prediction of ROP values by using artificial neural network (ANN).

     An Interactive Petrophysical software was used to convert the raw dataset of transit time (LAS Readings) from parts of meter-to-meter reading with depth. The IBM SPSS statistics software version 22 was used to create an interconnection between the drilling variables and the rate of penetration, detection of outliers of input parameters, and regression modeling. While a JMP Version 11 software from SAS Institute Inc. was used for artificial neural modeling.

339 individuals , were sorted from 22 samples collected from three sites in Tigris River including , Al- Sarafiya district (S1), Al- Jaderiyah district (S2) and Al-Za'afaraniya district (S3), in addition to one site in the irrigation canal of the Al- Jaderiyah campus of the University of Baghdad (S4) , and in Al- Jeish canal(S5) east Baghdad. The sorting results revealed that the highest number of individuals of 102 was recorded at S4, whereas the lowest number of 24 individuals was recorded at S2.
