The Concept of Real Religiosity in Graham Greene’s The Heart of the Matter

Religion in its general and simplified form is defined as a set of values or moral laws, which include provisions that people should follow to organize their affairs and ratify that they are provisions sent from the divine. 

      The concept of religion is not limited to the narrower sense represented by the performance of the virtual rituals of worship and religious fashions, etc., but also includes all the moral and spiritual values, conduct and good dealing that reflect the true essence of religion, which boils down to a set of values – such as sincerity, honesty and dedication to work, merciful dealing and compassion, etc. All religions agree on the moral content of religion. The Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (peace be upon him) said in a hadith that: “God does not look at your photos and money, but look into your hearts and your deeds”. As the Prophet Jesus (Isa in Islam) (peace be upon him) said: “blessed are those of the pure hearts, they bear witness to God.” However, in the present day religion is measured only by its external shape. Lots of thinkers and writers have rebelled against this narrow vision of religion and insisted that religion is an essence rather than appearance. Among these is the English writer and novelist Graham Greene (1904-1991) who, despite the stigma of atheism, did not stray far from the soul of religion. In his novel, The Heart of the Matter (1948) Greene tries, through his protagonist, to pinpoint what the heart of religion is.

The Prevalence of Integron Classes Genes Among A. Baumannii Isolates

     Acinetobacter baumannii has been recently classified as a major threat to public health because it has resistant to almost all antibiotics and there are many reasons that are responsible for conferring this feature to A. baumannii. Exploiting the diazotization reaction of 4- minoacetophenone for Methyldopa determination.

Based on the diazotization reaction of 4-aminoacetophenone with sodium nitrite in acid medium to form diazonium salt, which was coupled with Methyldopa to form a violet reddish soluble azo dye with maximum absorbance at 560 nm,a batch procedure had been developed for the estamination of Methyldopa. A Comprehensive Study and Analysis of the Chaotic Chua Circuit

      was studied by taking several different values for the constant α and fixing the other three variables β, c and d with the values 25.58, -0.7142857, and -1.142, respectively. The purpose of this paper is to know the values by which the system transforms from a steady state to a chaotic state under the initial conditions x, y, and z that equal -1.6, 0 and 1.6 respectively. Porous Silicon effect on the performance of CdS nanoparticles photodetector

Cadmium sulfide photodetector was fabricated. The CdS nano
powder has been prepared by a chemical method and deposited as a
thin film on both silicon and porous p- type silicon substrates by spin
coating technique. Structural, morphological, optical and electrical
properties of the prepared CdS nano powder are studied. The X-ray
analysis shows that the obtained powder is CdS with predominantly
hexagonal phase. The Hall measurements show that the nano powder
is n-type with carrier concentration of about (-5.4×1010) cm-3. The

Study The Structural And Electrical Properties Of CdTe:In Thin Films

 Indium doped CdTe polycrystalline films of thickness equals to 300nm were grown on corning glass substrates at temperature equals to 423K by thermal co-evaporation technique. The structural and electrical properties for these films were studied as a function of heat treatment (323,373,423)K. The x-ray analysis showed that all samples are polycrystalline and have the cubic zincblende structure with preferential orientation in the [111] direction, no diffraction peaks corresponding to metallic Cd, Te or other compounds were observed. It was found that the electrical resistivity drops and the carrier concentration increases when the CdTe film doped with 1.5% indium and treated at different annealing temperatures.

Enhancing the Performance of Piezoelectric Energy Harvesters Using Permanent Magnets

A cantilevered piezoelectric beam with a tip mass at its free end is a common energy harvester configuration. This paper introduces a new principle of designing such a harvester which increases the generated voltage without changing the natural frequency of the harvester: The attraction force between two permanent magnets is used to add stiffness to the system. This magnetic stiffening counters the effect of the tip mass on the natural frequency.
