Biological activity of the carotenoids which are produced fromchemically-mutaed local isolate of Rhodotorula mucilaginosawas studied. The results showed variation of inhibition activity of caritenoids against different types of pathogenic bacteria include, Staph aureus, E. coli, B. subtilis and Salmo. typh., the number declined from 2×107cell/ml to 2×104, 5×104, 2×105, 9×105 cell/ml respectively after 24hour. The produced carotenoids from alocal mutant Rhodotorula mucilaginosa revealed an antioxidant activity as free radical removal of 85.6%. In the present work, the surface properties of mixed binary surfactants containing sodium dodecylbenzene sulfate (SDBS) and Tween 80 (TW80) surfactants in aqueous solutions were studied at temperature 293 K using surface tension measurements. The critical micelle concentration (cmc) magnitude for both individual surfactants and their mixtures were established the obtained results revealed that the magnitude of cmc of the mixtures are less than the magnitude of individual surfactants and decrease with the increase in Tween 80 percent in solution which indicate the nonideal mixing of the two surfactants. In this study, carbon nanotubes were prepared using a pure chemical method modified similar to the Hummers method with simple changes in the work steps. The carbon nanotubes were then coated and reduced on copper and aluminum metals using the electrodeposition method (EDP) for corrosion protection application in seawater medium (NaCl 3.5%) at four different temperatures: 20, 30, 40, and 50 °C, which were studied using three electrode potentiostats. All corrosion measurements, thermodynamics, and kinetics parameters were nominated from Tafel plots. The films deposited by the carbon nanotubes were examined by the SEM technique, and this technique showed the formation of carbon nanotubes.
