In this study, the results of the uranium concentrations and specific activity in 10 rice samples are described using a solid-state track detector (CR-39). Samples were collected from various local Iraqi markets with different origins (Iraq, India, America, and Thailand). Our findings found that the results of uranium concentration in all studied samples are ranging from (0.55 ± 0.28 to 1.74 ± 0.31) ppm with a weighted average of (1.24 ± 0.99) ppm.        The climate parameters (rainfall, number of rainy days and temperature) data for about seventy years from 1941 – 2009 for three Iraqi meteorological stations (Diwaniya, Nasiriya, and Kut) were investigated and gave good evidence of climate change. Background: Urinary tract infection is a highly prevalent disease all over the world and affects females more than males. In the former, it may complicate pregnancy to potentially lethal septicaemia. Therefore, the aim of current case report was to show how misinterpretation of symptoms of septicaemia can lead to inadequate, and probably inappropriate, management with subsequent medico-legal consequences. Methods: A case study of a young pregnant female who developed urinary tract infection and treated with parenteral cephalosporins.
