Research summary

Praise be to God, and prayers and peace be upon our master Muhammad, his family and companions until the Day of Judgment.

As for after:

It is the right of every nation to take care of its scientific heritage, and to reveal its human civilizational impact, and the Arabs are the richest nations in heritage, as they had in every period of time a sign and pride, the Arabs fulfilled their duty towards humanity, and they carried out a large part of their scientific activity towards humanity.

Therefore, highlighting some of the scientific aspects of the civilized activity of the Arabs, and removing some of the illusions spread by some malicious people, is a human duty before it is a national duty.

In order to achieve the truth, and to highlight the human scientific activity of the Arabs, I wanted to shed light on the contributions of the Arabs in one of the pure sciences, which is the science of algebra, in this research tagged:

(Contributions of Arab scholars in the science of algebra).

In it, I focused on the historical role of the Arabs without elaborating on the details of the theories of algebra. This research included three topics:

The first topic: the definition of algebra and its historical roots.

The second topic: Al-Khwarizmi's efforts in the science of algebra.

The third topic: the most famous Arab scientists and their efforts in the science of algebra.

Then the conclusion of the research, which included the most important results and recommendations.

God grants success.

Preparation and Characterization of High Surface Area Nanosilica from Iraqi Sand via Sol-Gel Technique
...Show More Authors

The present study revealed a low-cost process for utilizing desert sand for preparing nanosilica by sol-gel technique. This work required sodium hydroxide, concentrated hydrochloric acid, distillate water as raw materials, and Iraqi sand. Nanosilica sample was characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy analysis (SEM), atomic force microscope(AFM), surface area (BET) method, and fourier transform infrared (FTIR). The XRD result of produced sample is referred to as amorphous silica, and it has a broad peak at 2Θ= 22° – 22.5 º. SEM showed spherical, agglomerated silica particles with a diameter range of 26.57–28.93 nm. In addition, the average particle size was 76.35nm, with a dimension range of 40-11

Assessment of chemokines MIP-1α and MIP-1 βin Iraqi women with polycystic ovarian syndrome
...Show More Authors

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is reproductive, endocrine, and metabolic disorder affecting females. The pathology of PCOS is complicated and associated to chronic low-grade inflammation, this includes a disruption in pro-inflammatory factor production, leukocytosis, and endothelial cell dysfunction, also associated with high level of pro-inflammatory cytokines, chemokines and leukocyte count. In addition, PCOS is characterized by hormonal and immunological dysfunction. Inflammation of the ovary affects ovulation and induces or aggravates systemic inflammation. Macrophage inflammatory protein-1 (MIP-1), a pro-inflammatory chemokine, is crucial in the recruitment of inflammatory and immunological cells to the place of inflammation

Synthesis of carboxymethyl cellulose from coconut fibers and its application as solid polymer electrolyte membranes
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) is one of the important cellulose derivatives, and it can be developed as a host polymer for solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) membrane. This study aimed to synthesis of CMC from coconut fiber cellulose and it was applied to prepare the SPE membranes. Cellulose isolation was conducted through the delignification and bleaching process, while the CMC synthesis was conducted through alkalization and carboxymethylation treatments. SPE membranes were prepared by blending CMC with carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCh) (80/20) and mixed with various weight percentages of LiOAc at room temperature. SPE membranes characterizations were conducted using FTIR, EIS, XRD, SEM, and tensile testi
... Show More

Diazotization reaction between 1-(2,4,6-Trihydroxy-phenyl)-ethanone and diazonium salts was carried out resulting in ligand 4-(3-Acetyl-2,4,6-trihydroxy-phenylazo)-N-(5-methyl-isoxazol-3-yl)-benzenesulfonamide, this in turn reacted with the next metal ions (V4+ , Cr3+ , Mn2+ and Cu2+) forming stable complexes with unique geometries such as (Octahedral for both Cr3+ , Mn2+ and Cu2+ ,squar pyramidal for V4+). The creation of such complexes was detected by employing spectroscopic means involving ultraviolet-visible which proved the obtained geometries, fourier transfer proved the formation of azo group and and the coordination with metal ion through it. Pyrolysis (TGA & DSC) studies proved the coordination of water residues with me

Optical properties of Ag-doped nickel oxide thin films prepared by pulsed-laser deposition technique
...Show More Authors

In this work, pure and Ag-doped nickel oxide (NiO) thin films were deposited on glass substrates with different dopant concentrations (0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 wt.%) by pulsed-laser deposition (PLD) technique at room temperature. These films were annealed at temperature of 450 °C. The structural and optical properties of the prepared thin films were studied. It was found that annealing process has lead to increase the transmittance of the deposited films. Also, the transmittance was found to increase with doping concentration of silver in the deposited NiO films. The optical energy gap was decreased from 3.5 to 3.2 eV as the doping concentration was increased to 0.4 %.

Flexural Response of RC Beams with Variable-Width Prestressed and Non-Prestressed CFRP Plate Strengthening
...Show More Authors

This experimental research was conducted to quantify the combined effect of the external bonded Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) plate width and prestressing on the flexural performance of reinforced concrete (RC) beams in terms of strength improvement. Seven beams (one control and six strengthened) were subjected to two-point loading tests. The experimental methodology consisted of the testing of three different widths of the CFRP plates (25, 40, and 60 mm) in non-prestressed and prestressed conditions. Prestressing was accomplished by tensioning the plates to 23% of the CFRP tensile strength using a novel, locally developed mechanical anchorage system, which is one of the key experimental contributions that distinguishes thi

Optimization of Gallic acid Production from Locally Isolated Bacillus subtilis using Agricultural and Food Waste
...Show More Authors

Gallic acid is a highly valuable organic compound with extensive applications in the food, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors. Biological production of gallic acid through microbial degradation of natural tannins offers a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to synthetic methods. Objective: This study aimed to isolate and identify tannin-degrading bacteria from local sources and optimize the fermentation conditions for maximum gallic acid production using agro-industrial waste. Methodology: Thirteen bacterial isolates were obtained from soil and spoiled pomegranate samples. The isolates were subjected to qualitative and quantitative screening for tannase activity. The most efficient isolate was identified morphologica

Synthesis, Characterization of Formazan Derivatives from Isoniazid and Study Their Antioxidant Activity and Molecular Docking
...Show More Authors

Objective: Synthesis, Characterization of formazan derivatives and studies the antioxidant activity of prepared compounds and molecular docking. Methods: In this study, formazan compounds (III–XIV) were produced by combining Schiff base compounds (I), (II) with diazonium salts resulting from reactions of different aromatic amines with sodium nitrate in the presence of Con.HCl at 0–5°C. When isonicotinic acid hydrazide reacts with (N,N-dimethylbenzaldehyde, 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde) in the presence glacial acetic acid as a solvent Schiff base compounds are created. Results: The prepared compounds were identified by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, then the antioxidant activity of the derivatives and molecular docking were studied. D
