The current research aimed to investigate the psychometric characteristics of the Arabic version of the Nomophobia scale for the Omani youth. The scale was administered to a random sample of students from public and private universities and colleges in Oman. The research sample consisted of 2507 students, of whom 868 males and 1639 females. The validity of the measure was first checked by presenting the scale to a group of experts in this field. Then the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was carried out. The exploratory factor analysis revealed the existence of three main factors: the fear of connectivity loss, the fear of communication loss with others, and the fear of network outages. This study was conducted to investigate phytoplasma causing a virescence disease on Arabic jasmine Jasminum sambac based on microscopy and molecular approaches. Samples were collected from symptomatic Arabic jasmine plants grown in nurseries in Baghdad-Iraq. Specimens from infected plants were prepared and Dienes stained for light microscopy examination. Phytoplasma were detected in infected plants by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using P1/P7 and SecAfor1/SecArev3 Candidatus Phytoplasma specific primer sets. Spelling correction is considered a challenging task for resource-scarce languages. The Arabic language is one of these resource-scarce languages, which suffers from the absence of a large spelling correction dataset, thus datasets injected with artificial errors are used to overcome this problem. In this paper, we trained the Text-to-Text Transfer Transformer (T5) model using artificial errors to correct Arabic soft spelling mistakes. Our T5 model can correct 97.8% of the artificial errors that were injected into the test set. Additionally, our T5 model achieves a character error rate (CER) of 0.77% on a set that contains real soft spelling mistakes.
