The Problem of Meaning in Contemporary Iraqi Sculpture: عبد الله فوزي خورشيد
...Show More Authors

The concept of meaning is one of the most important topics that have occupied the mind of the recipient and critic in all the arts, especially the plastic arts, where we find that the art of contemporary plastic art, in particular sculpture has multiple readings and many critics differed in terms of different reading and views of the same artistic achievement.

This research will identify the different works of contemporary Iraqi sculptors while presenting and studying their works, as well as (studying the problem of meaning) of the artistic achievements of the sculptors in particular. The various parties interested in Iraqi sculpture did not seize the problem of the objective and subjective meaning of contemporary Iraqi sculptures. Against this, we find that the research process started from the first chapter, where it deals from the beginning with (the problem of research), which starts from the important and controversial question: (Why does reading change from one intellectual direction to another?) And then the research goes to (the importance of research and its goal). Then (the limits of the search and the definition of the most important terms). The second chapter includes three sections, the first of which is entitled (The Concept of Meaning in Aesthetic Philosophical Thought) through touching on the most important objective concepts in general and the individual subjective concepts embodied in the artist himself in addition to mentioning the most important works that clarify these concepts and referring them to the philosophical direction to which they belong.  The second section of the theoretical framework was entitled (the concept of meaning in the aesthetic critical thinking) to address the most important artists and international works that illustrate the concept of global sculpture and the problem of meaning in it, as well as the critical reading of a collection of works of art, which was referred to read according to the critical direction, transmitted from the meaning. The third section of the second and final chapter will be about (the meaning between objectivity and subjectivity in contemporary international sculpture) and will talk specifically about the international and Iraqi art and its contemporary sculptors, as well as the subjective and objective thought that this research stressed as the basis of the subject of our research. Finally, the third chapter of this research will include the methodology used in the analysis of the sample, the descriptive analytical method, and then the research community and the sample chosen intentionally for the purpose of achieving the research goal, as well as the analysis tool adopted for the analysis of the sample, and finally collecting the data obtained by the researcher for the purpose of checking the data and information as accurate and correct in the analysis.

The researcher then selected artistic  achievements from the work of Iraqi artists with multiple meaning (compatible with the research) for the purpose of achieving the research goal, and then describing and analyzing them  according to the descriptive analytical method. The fourth and final chapter in this research talks about the most important (findings and conclusions) reached by this research, and then (recommendations and suggestions) recommended by the researcher, and then came the list of sources adopted in this research

The control of water represents the safe key for fair and optimal use to protect water resources due to human activities, including untreated wastewater, which is considered a carrier of a large number of antibiotic-resistant bacterial species. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of antibiotic-resistance to E. coli in Tigris River by the presence of resistance genes for aminoglycoside(qepA( ,quinolone (gyrA), and sulfa drugs( dfr1 ,dfr17) due to the frequent use of antibiotics and their release into wastewater of hospitals. Samples were collected from three sites on Tigris River: S1( station wastewater in Adhamiya), S2 (station wastewater in Baghdad Medical city hospital), S3 (station wastew

Measuring and Analysis the Relationship between the Internal Public Debt and the Exchange Rate in the Iraqi Economy for The Period 2004 – 2022

The scholastic view of public religion differed, and this difference was on two extremes. All economic schools agreed that public debt is a monetary liquidity that was unjustly deducted from the income and output cycle as a result of the imbalance in the economic balance and the departure from the conditions of balance between aggregate demand and aggregate supply. Debt is a waste of financial resources allocated to productive accumulation. Except for the Keynesian school, which considers public debt to be an addition to aggregate demand after the decline in the role of the private sector in investment as a result of pessimistic expectations that warn of signs of economic contraction. Public debt is linked to the ex

Sustainable communities rating system within the context of Iraqi cities characteristics

Abstract<p>Rating systems for evaluating the sustainability of communities are an essential tool that is increasingly applied throughout the developed world to set criteria indicators to optimize the physical, social, economic, and environmental potential within such communities. Rating systems vary based on existing disparities among societies and their unique building and physical planning practices. Iraqi cities lacked the adaptation of a formal methodology or sustainability rating system to correctly measure the built environment’s sustainability indicators. This research attempts to review the most substantial rating systems to measure the sustainability of communities worldwide to form a</p> ... Show More

Abstract<p>Samples of Iraqi bentonitic sediments, representing local montmorillonite brought from Traifawi region near the Syrian border. Mineralogical the samples were characterized as low grade of Ca-smectite, particle size, chemical analysis, XRD, and BET surface area analyses of the samples were carried out to examine the structure of bentonite before and after acid activation. The goal is to prepare a bleaching earth for edible oil production. Iraqi Bentonite was beneficiated and activated by series of physical and chemical steps, using 4N & 6N concentration of hydrochloric acid and at a temperature of 70-80 ° C. Abstract<p>The most used material in the world after water is concrete, which depends mainly on its manufacture of cement leading to the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2), flying dust, and other greenhouse gasses (GHGs) resulting in pollution of the atmosphere. The emission of CO2 from cement production is approximately 5% of the global anthropogenic CO2. This research focuses on investigating the amount of CO2 emission from the Iraqi General Cement Company plants includes the cement factories of Kirkuk, Al-Qa’em, Fallujah, and Kubaisa, using the GHGs Protocol Measures Program (specifically cement based-method).</p> ...
