اصبحت اللغة الانكليزية اللغة العالمية الأوسع انتشاراً في العالم ، في حين لم تكن هذه اللغة معروفة جيداً خارج بريطانيا حتى النصف الثاني من القرن الثامن عشر⁽¹⁾، ورافق هيمنة الانكليزية تسلل وتغلغل للقيم وطريقة الحياة الامريكية بجميع دلالاتها الصارخة .
