Variation in the degree of Continentality climate of Iraq

This research paper is about thevariationin the degree of Continentality climate of the
Iraq during (40) years for a number of climate station. Using Poresof formula, it is found out
that the climate of Iraq ranges between extreme Continentality and very extreme
Continentality, and that the Continentality degree is characterized with extreme frequency
from one year to another. In certain years, the degree of climate Continentality decreases
while in other years it rises in such a way that there is no similarity in the Continental degree
from one year to another for the same station.
As for the general trend of the degree of Continentality, the last years had noticed
special variations, which are divided in to three climate regions: the first region exists in the
North and North-East of the country in which the Continentality degree tended to decrease
and it is ranged between-0.2% to -0.6%,while the Continentality degree of the second region,
which is located in the middle and north of the country, tended to rise simply and this ranged
between 0.6% to 1.7%. Finally, the Continentality degree of the third region, which is located
in the south-east tended to a most clear rise which ranged between 2.5% to 8.7%.
By drawing maps of the annual Continentality degree, it is found out that in some
yearsthe area of the extreme Continentality climate and the very extreme Continentality
climate are equal, while in other years, the area of the extreme Continentality climate
becomes much wider and the opposite happens in other years.

Influence of Optical Fiber Diameters on the Performance of Surface Plasmon Resonance Sensor

In this research, a sensor for chemical solutions was designed and formed using optical fiber-based on a surface Plasmon resonance technology. A single-mode optical fiber with three different diameters (25, 45 and 65) µm was used, respectively.  The second layer of the low refractive fiber was replaced by gold, which was electrically deposited at 40 µm thickness. The effect of heat treatment on structure property of (Bentonite - Alumina - Silica) Ceramic

Abstract<p>In this work, a ceramic model has obtained from Iraqi bentonite as a base material with limited additions of alumina and silica. The selected material can bear temperatures higher than the bearing temperature of bentonite as it achieved tolerance temperatures (1300°C) based on X-ray diffraction patterns. It was found that the addition of alumina and silica led to the occurrence of basic phases such as mullite, quartz, cordierite and feldspar in percentages that depended on the percentage of addition in the mixture and the firing temperature, which was (1000-1300)°C.</p>

The Effect of Germination on Chemical Constituents of Broad Beans and Chickpeas Seeds

This study was carried out to find out the effect of germination of broad beans and chickpeas seeds for different periods on their antinutritional factors content ( Trypsin inhibitor and Phytic acid ) and the chemical constituents of germination seeds compared with the control samples (ungerminated seeds) . The results indicated asignificant increase (P<0.05) in crude protein content as germination period proceeded.The highest values of 28.0% and 24.0% were reached on the sixth and fourth day for germinated broad beans and chickpeas respectively, The intial values were 25.6% and 23.5% for control samples, respectively. Effect of Fat Replacement with Tahena on the Quality Properties of Shortened Cake
