In this paper, thirty six samples of canned vegetables were collected randomly from
different markets in Baghdad city from October 2013 till March 2014. The study
includes identifying the concentration of some heavy metals (lead, nickel, zinc and iron)
by flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometery. It was found that the higher
concentrations of heavy metals in canned vegetables, was lead 1.179 ppm in olive,
nickel 0.9078 ppm in olive, while zinc 10.143 ppm green peas and iron 90.601ppm in
white asparagus; but the lower concentrations represents with lead 0.0021 ppm in green
asparagus, nickel 0.0202 ppm in mushroom, while zinc 0.528 ppm in white asparagus

In the present study, the properties of the light elements, namely, H, He, Li, and Be, have been reviewed. Specifically, the nuclear decay of these nuclei has been reviewed. The mystery of the nuclear decay and potential is behind this work. The role of neutron has been investigated. The N/Z ratio has also been investigated in the study to relate the nuclear decay with the ratio. A new formula for nuclear potential has been suggested in the present study. This formula can describe the binding energy potential and the decayed particle energy depending on the N/Z ratio.
Three hospitals were chosen(Maternity hospital, Raperin hospital and Rhizgari hospital) for the present survey within Erbil city. Water samples were collected at regular monthly interval periods beginning in January 2012 to December 2012. pH of all the studied sites were found to be up 7. Electrical conductivity ranged from (1318-1790 μs.cm-1 in Maternity Hospital, 1770-2232 μs.cm-1 in Raperin Hospital, 1010-1615 μs.cm-1 in Rhizgari Hospital). BOD5 and COD values ranged from 22- 80 mg.L1 and 280- 1410 mg.L-1 respectively, this indicated a high pollution situation in the studied sites in respect to organic matter content. The activity of peroxidase (POD) in cabbage was evaluated using
spectrophotometric method. The enzyme was extracted from the cabbage leaves
with 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution pH 7. 0 . POD activity was determined using
(O-dianisidine) as a substrate. The effects of the amounts of enzyme extract,
substrate concentration, pH and temperature were investigated. The highest activity
of POD was recored at 2 mg/ml. The highest activity of POD was optimized with
16 mM O-dianisidine, The optimum pH was 7.0 for POD , The optimum
temperature was 30°C for POD. These optimum conditions were used to
