Abstract
Dame Ngaio Edith Marsh (1899-1982), a writer of detective fiction, was born
at Christchurch, New Zealand. Her hero, Chief Detective Inspector Roderick Alleyn,
appears in her first novel, A Man Lay Dead (1934), and in subsequent novels
including Death and the Dancing Footman (1942). She wrote twenty detective novels.
The Dancing Footman, Thomas, listening to a playful song from the smokingroom's
radio where William lay dead after being killed by his brother, Nicholas,
provides the most suspected guest at Highfold with badly needed alibi. The murderer,
Nicholas, plans an almost perfect crime, but the dance of this footman spoils his
scheme. When Alleyn and his group of policemen stage a show in which there is a
reconstruction of the murder, Nicholas collapses, and tries to escape, hits Bailey,
Alleyn's finger-print specialist, but they overpower him and take him away with the
two corpses of his mother and brother.
Two different oxidative desulfurization strategies based on oxidation/adsorption or oxidation/extraction were evaluated for the desulfurization of AL-Ahdab (AHD) sour crude oil (3.9wt% sulfur content). In the oxidation process, a homogenous oxidizing agent comprising of hydrogen peroxide and formic acid was used. Activated carbons were used as sorbent/catalyst in the oxidation/adsorption process while acetonitrile was used as an extraction solvent in the oxidation/extraction process. The study was conducted to estimate the economic losses caused by insect mole cricket Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa on some agricultural crops and Potato tubers in collage of Agriculture- Abu Ghraib season 2012-2013. Study showed Mole cricket caused percentage of infestation in spring potato tubers variety Luciana reached to 11.61% and the percentage of loss in weight of tubers reached 18.88%.
