Abstract
Dame Ngaio Edith Marsh (1899-1982), a writer of detective fiction, was born
at Christchurch, New Zealand. Her hero, Chief Detective Inspector Roderick Alleyn,
appears in her first novel, A Man Lay Dead (1934), and in subsequent novels
including Death and the Dancing Footman (1942). She wrote twenty detective novels.
The Dancing Footman, Thomas, listening to a playful song from the smokingroom's
radio where William lay dead after being killed by his brother, Nicholas,
provides the most suspected guest at Highfold with badly needed alibi. The murderer,
Nicholas, plans an almost perfect crime, but the dance of this footman spoils his
scheme. When Alleyn and his group of policemen stage a show in which there is a
reconstruction of the murder, Nicholas collapses, and tries to escape, hits Bailey,
Alleyn's finger-print specialist, but they overpower him and take him away with the
two corpses of his mother and brother.

Background: Candida tropicalis is one of the most causes of vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) in women. Systemic candidiasis and candidemia may also occur in pregnancies. Objective: This study was carried out to detect and isolate of this yeast from aborted placenta, which may cause severe complications such as spontaneous abortion. Materials and methods: Fresh aborted placenta were collected and washed by normal saline to remove the blood. Then, cut it into portions and place it in test tube containing 5 ml of normal saline. The toxicity effect of some heavy metals (Lead, Cadmium, Copper, and Zinc) on the growth of alga Scenedesmus dimorphus which belongs to the Division of Chlorophyta was studied and depended on the total cell number . The growth rate and doubling time were also calculated accordingly in present of absent of the the heavy metals . There were differences in toxic effects of the metals (p<0.05) . The growth was decreased gradually with alga when exposured to Lead at 15,20 and 25 mg/l in comparison with the control , mean while 30 mg/l caused an acute decrease in growth .
