Preparation of the Epoxy / Chicken Eggshell Composites to use in Surfaces Coating
...Show More Authors

In this  work , impact strength and the water absorption  ratio of powders of white and brown local chicken eggshell reinforced epoxy with different volume fractions ( 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 and  5 % ) were studied .       The experimental results show that composite filled by ( 1 % Vol . )of white eggshell powder exhibited  maximum  impact  strength and high resistance to tape water , so we choose this volume fraction to use the epoxy composite in coating . Optical microscopic observations are taken to develop a better  understanding of the phenomena taking place in the material system at microscopic level .

Morning blood pressure surge and dipping profile in non-hypertensive obese subjects.
...Show More Authors

Background: Obesity is an evolving major health problem in both developed and developing countries. Non-hypertensive obese may have an elevated Morning Blood pressure surge (MBPS), which is associated with increased risk for cardiac events (CE) independently of office and ambulatory blood pressure (BP). Non-hypertensive obese also may have a blunted nocturnal decrease in BP during the night, while healthy normotensive non-obese individuals have a 10%–20% nocturnal decrease in blood pressure (BP) during the night or dipping. Thus, 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitor (ABPM) is the gold standard to evaluate MBPS and dipping profile in non-hypertensive obese individuals.

Prevalence of substance use disorders among prisoners in Al- Diwania governorate, Iraq
...Show More Authors

Background: Substance use disorders (SUDs) are among the common psychiatric disorders and constitute a major public health concern. Iraqi’s were exposed to widespread violence and wars in the last decades. High prevalence of alcohol and substance use was reported recently in Baghdad. Research literature documented the association of SUDs with exposure to trauma events e.g. wars, terrorist attacks and natural disaster. Published articles on SUDs among prisoners in Iraq are scarce. Therefore, this work was carried out to report on SUDs among prisoners in Al-Diwania governorate and its relation to antisocial activity.
Methods: A total of 1200 prisoners in Al-Diwania civilian prison were included in the stu

Allele frequencies of 15 Autosomal STR loci in Some of Iraqi population
...Show More Authors

This study was aimed to establish a database of autosomal Short Tandem Repeat (aSTR) DNA allele frequencies for an Iraqi population living in Baghdad city as a reference, therefore, a total of 456 unrelated individuals were analyzed at 15 STR DNA markers (D3S1358, vWA, FGA, D8S1179, D21S11, D18S51, D5S818, D13S317, D7S820, TH01, TPOX, CSF1PO, D19S433, D2S1338, D16S539) included in the Kit from Applied Biosystems. The obtained results revealed that the Combined Matching Probability (CMP) was estimated at 1 in 3.3287 × 10-18, and the Combined Discrimination Power (CDP) was greater than 0.98600987, which is comparable to values obtained with the many other allele frequency databases used in forensic investigations. It can be con

Correlation between Computerized Tomography Densimetry and Histomorphometry in Assessment of Bone Healing
...Show More Authors

Background: Assessment of fracture healing is a common problem in orthopedic practice and research. Computerized Tomography (CT) is a reliable tool for quantification of the fracture repair process in experimental animals. Histomorphometric evaluation provides a clear quantitative evidence of the bone healing process. The evaluation by micro-architectures in healing bone showed variable correlation between CT and histomorphometry.
Material and methods: open ulnar osteotomy induced in twenty young male rabbits under general anesthesia without internal fixation, and divided into five groups. A group of animals were sacrificed at end of 2nd week, 3rd week, 4th week, 5th week, and 6th week. The right ulna iso

Consumer Use of E-Banking in Iraq: Security Breaches and Offered Solution
...Show More Authors

After the software revolution in the last decades, the field of information technology had a tremendous evolution that made many organizations reach the best benefits from this evolution in technologies. The banking sector evolved their old system from ordinary system to the online system. The term E-banking appears to cover almost all bank operations such as money transactions, account management, instant reports, instant notifications. E-banking offers several advantages to clients, but this opens many challenges and motivates unauthorized parties to focus on creating methods and exploiting weaknesses to attack and steal critical information that belongs to the banking system or clients. Iraqi banks recently adopted E-banking se

Micronuclei Formation and Comet Assay in Women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
...Show More Authors

Recently the polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) has been linked with DNA damage and genomic instability. Amis of this study to evaluated some parameters of genetic instability such as micronuclei and comet assay score in women with PCOS. Genotoxicity and cytotoxicity of DNA damage were evaluated by measured of micronuclei and comet assay in 25 patients with PCOS and 15 normal menstrual women as control group. The results showed higher significant differences in the level of micronuclei and comet score in patients with PCOS compared with normal women. We concluded that, the genetic instability more occurred in patients with PCOS when compared with control group.

Hiding Data in Color Image Using Least Significant Bits of Blue Sector
...Show More Authors

Concealing the existence of secret hidden message inside a cover object is known as steganography, which is a powerful technique. We can provide a secret communication between sender and receiver using Steganography. In this paper, the main goal is for hiding secret message into the pixels using Least Significant Bit (LSB) of blue sector of the cover image. Therefore, the objective is by mapping technique presenting a model for hiding text in an image. In the model for proposing the secret message, convert text to binary also the covering (image) is divided into its three original colors, Red, Green and Blue (RGB) , use the Blue sector convert it to binary,  hide two bits from the message in  two bits of the least significant b

Evaluation Of liver And Kidney Functions In Lung And Bladder Cancer Patients
...Show More Authors

This study was performed at Nuclear Radiation Hospital in Baghdad for the period from
January 2011 to May 2011. 44 Blood samples were collected from patients suffered lung and
bladder cancer and 24 samples as healthy control individuals.
Routine liver functions tests were studied by measuring S.GPT, S.GOT and Kidney
function was evaluated by estimation of blood urea and creatinine in serum samples of
individuals studied.
It was observed that the incidence of lung and bladder cancer was higher in males than
females patients ( male 81.82 %, 72.73%, female18 .18%, 27.27% respectively).
Insignificant difference was noted among age of lung and bladder cancer patients
compared with control group. The results
