ABO Blood Type in Relation in Relation to Caries Experience and Salivary Physicochemical Characteristic among College Students at Al-Diwania Governorate in Iraq
...Show More Authors

Background: (ABO) Blood type have an effect on general health including oral health as salivary physicochemical characteristics differ among different type of blood and as consequence these affect the severity of dental caries. The aim of the present study is an assessment of the prevalence of caries experience among different blood type in relation to salivary physicochemical characteristic. Materials and Methods: Two hundred and fifty females' college students in Al-Qadisyia University aged 18 years old were selected on random basis; they were divided to four groups according to their blood type, Dental experience was diagnosed and recorded according to DMFs (Mülemman, 1976) Index, this allows recording decayed lesion by severity. A sub sample was pooled for salivary analysis. Results: In the present study the blood type O was more common followed by B and A, whereas the less common was AB type, caries experiences (DMFs) and Ds component were found to be statistically significant among different blood types. The most sever grade of dental caries D3 and D4 were higher among type AB and lowest sever grade D1 among B blood type. While salivary flow rate significantly differ among differ blood type, viscosity higher but not significant among type AB. While salivary concentration of calcium and total protein were differ but not significant, opposite to alkaline phosphatase which was highly significant among different blood types. Conclusions: ABO blood type has an effect on salivary physical and chemical characteristic of saliva as effect on prevalence of caries.

Effective indicators of healthy cities in facing natural disasters (epidemics and diseases)
...Show More Authors

The excessive and rapid urban growth witnessed by most cities in the world can be a cause of diseases and epidemics, especially those problems related to population, which include problems of transportation and increase in density in the centers, in addition to the lack of interest in planning and designing those cities to take into account the health aspect of the city and obtain The health well-being of the population, and each of these problems has negative effects on health in general and on human health in particular through its prevalence. Therefore, many concepts that serve as a tool for achieving public health and the physical health of the population have emerged, including the concept of city health, which is defined as cities

Problems of Heavy Oil Transportation in Pipelines And Reduction of High Viscosity
...Show More Authors

Drag has long been identified as the main reason for the loss of energy in fluid transmission like pipelines and other similar transportation channels. The main contributor to this drag is the viscosity as well as friction against the pipe walls, which will results in more pumping power consumption.

The aim in this study was first to understand the role of additives in the viscosity reduction and secondly to evaluate the drag reduction efficiency when blending with different solvents.

This research investigated flow increase (%FI) in heavy oil at different flow rates (2 to 10 m3/hr) in two pipes (0.0381 m & 0.0508 m) ID By using different additives (toluene and naphtha) with different concent

THE ROLE OF WESTERN LEGISLATIONS AND LAWS IN PROTECTING CHILDREN FROM ADVERTISEMENT
...Show More Authors

This study aims to identify the most important legislatures and legal frameworks pertaining to advertisement for children. It focuses on the western approach, which is characterized by the variety of its perspectives in presenting issues and in identifying problems. However, if studies show that there is a certain awareness about the advertisement impact on children, it is obvious that most of legislatures reject the laws restricting the broadcast advertising spots intended for children under 12 years of age, with the exception of the Swedish and the Canadian province of Quebec experiences, which opted for total ban on advertising spots broadcast messages targeting children.

Health Hazards, Hematological and Biochemical Alterations in Dry-Cleaning Workers using Perchloroethylene.
...Show More Authors

Perchloroethylene (PERC) is commonly used as a dry-cleaning solvent, it is attributed to many deleterious effects in the biological system. The study aimed to investigate the harmful effect associated with PERC exposure among dry-cleaning workers. The study was carried out on 58 adults in two groups. PERC-exposed group; include thirty-two male dry-cleaning workers using PERC as a dry-cleaning solvent and twenty-six healthy non-exposed subjects. History of PERC exposure, use of personal protection equipment (PPE), safety measurement of the exposed group was recorded. Blood sample was taken from each participant for measurement of hematological markers, liver and kidney function tests. The results showed that 28.1% of the workers were usin

Inelastic mean free path of swift electrons and stopping power in Ta2O5
...Show More Authors

Energy Loss Function (ELF) of 2 5 Ta O derived from optical limit
and extended to the total part of momentum and their energy
excitation region ELF plays an important function in calculating
energy loss of electron in materials. The parameter Inelastic Mean
Free Path (IMFP) is most important in quantitative surface sensitive
electron spectroscopies, defined as the average distance that an
electron with a given energy travels between successive inelastic
collisions. The stopping cross section and single differential crosssection
SDCS are also calculated and gives good agreement with
previous work.
