Background: Removal of bacteria from the pulp system by instrumentation of an infected root canal, will be significantly reduced the number of bacteria, but it is well documented that instrumentation alone can-not clean and kill all bacteria found on the root canal walls. Antibacterial irrigants are needed to kill the remaining microorganisms. The aims of this study was to assess antibacterial effect of titanium tetrafluoride (TiF4) solution and brewing green tea against root canal bacteria and to compare with sodium hypochlorite and normal saline through microbiological and molecular studies. Materials and methods: Microbiological study was carried out to determine the concentration of titanium tetrafluoride and brewing green tea at which they exert antibacterial effect against ten swabs that had been taken from necrotic root canals that were incubated aerobically and anaerobically by paper disk diffusion test, whilemolecular study carried out among Forty children in which the antibacterial effect of titanium tetrafluoride and brewing green tea compared with sodium hypochlorite and normal saline were assessed by real time polymerase chain reaction using SYBR Green. Results: The microbiological study results showed that TiF4 achieved maximum antibacterial effect at concentration 5% against aerobic and anaerobic bacteria while green tea exhibited antibacterial effect when brewed for 20 minutes at concentration 100mg/1ml against staphylococcus aureus, but not active against other microorganisms like Escherichia coli and streptococcus. While results of molecular study illustrated that sodium hypochlorite remained the most effective endodontic irrigant solutions followed by titanium tetrafluoride then green tea while normal saline showed no antibacterial effect. Statistically titanium tetrafluoride, green tea and sodium hypochlorite have significant differences compared to normal saline. Conclusions: This study revealed that, titanium tetra fluoride and brewing green tea can be used as antibacterial irrigant solutions for root canal treatment in children.
The cytotoxic effect of different concentrations of Crude extracts of Solanum melongena , Curcuma longa and Daucus carota on mice mammary adenocarcinoma cell line was studied . The concentrations used were 62.5 125 , 250, 500 Microgram/militer for 24,48 and 72 hour . These exracts were prepared by using alcoholic and hot water methods . The study aimed to investigate the effect of different times as follows 0.5, 1.00, 2.00 and 3.00 hrs, type of solvent (acetone, methanol and ethanol) and temperature (~ 25 and 50)ºc on curcumin percentage yield from turmeric rhizomes. The results showed significant differences (p? 0.05) in all variables. The curcumin content which were determined spectrophotometrically ranged between (0.55-2.90) %. The maximum yield was obtained when temperature, time and solvent were 50ºC, 3 hrs and acetone, respectively.
In this work we study the influence of the laser pulse energy and ablation time on the aluminum nanoparticles productivity during nanosecond laser ablation of bulk aluminum immersed in liquid.
Aluminum nanoparticles were synthesized by pulsed laser ablation of Al targets in ethanol for 3-8 minutes using the 1064 nm wavelength of a Nd:YAG laser with energies of 300-500 mJ per pulse.The laser energy was varied between 300 and 500 mJ/pulse, whereas the ablation time was set to 5 minutes. UV-Visible absorption spectra was used for the characterization and comparison of products.
This study has been performed for knowing the nutritional and chemical content of one kind chamomile tea for infant and children available in the pharmacy. The results have been showed that the percentage of essential compounds which represented with moisture, protein, fat, carbohydrate, ash and calories as 7.09%,0.01%,0.01%,92,81%, 0.08% and 371,37 Kal./100g, respectively of dry weight. Also the results have been showed that the percentage of chamomile plant extract that added to the tea as 5.74%. And the result of chemical test for effective materials in alcoholic extract showed consist Tannis, Glycosides, Flavonoids, Alkialoids,and Resins.
IN this work, a titanium dental implant was modified by electro-polymerized of 4-allyl-2-methoxyphenol (Eugenol) using direct current lower than 3.5 volt. The modification of titanium dental implant was achieved to improve its corrosion resistant. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was employed to confirm the electro-polymerization of Eugenol to Poly Eugenol (PE) on pure titanium. Deposition of PE on titanium was confirmed by X-ray diffraction and was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The surface morphology of polymeric film were examined through scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Coated titanium by (PE) revealed a good corrosion protection efficiency even at temperature ranged (293-323)K in artificial saliva.
