Evaluation of olive oil as a separating medium and its effect on some physical properties of processed acrylic resin denture base (A comparative study). Part one
...Show More Authors

Back ground: During acrylic resin processing, the mold must be separated from the surface of the gypsum to prevent liquid resin from penetrating into the gypsum, and water from the gypsum seeping into the acrylic resin. For many years, tin foil was the most acceptable separating medium, and because it's difficult to apply, a tin-foil substitute is used. In this study, olive oil is used as an alternative to tin foil separating medium for first time, so the aim of the study was to evaluate its effect as a separating medium on some physical properties such as (surface roughness, water sorption and solubility) of acrylic resins denture base comparing it with those processed using tin-foil and tin foil substitute such as (cold mold seal) separating medium. Materials and methods: One hundred forty two acrylic resins samples (124) were prepared falling in two main groups: [heat and cold-cured acrylic denture base resins ], for each group three types of separating medium were used and five tests (10 samples) for each test were carried out , and (4) samples for the chemical composition. Result: From the result obtained, tin foil is one of the most satisfactory separating media in getting the best properties when using it as a separating medium, while, a statistically no-significant difference have been noticed between olive oil and cold-mold seal samples concerning physical and mechanical properties of tested groups. Infrared spectroscopy analysis showed that, no changes were found in the chemical composition of both heat and cold-cured acrylic resins denture base after using olive oil as a separating medium. Conclusion: Lastly, from the results of this study it may be concluded, that olive oil may be used as a substitute for tin foil and cold – mold seal separating medium in processing both heat and cold – cure acrylic resin denture base.

Effect of Supplementing Different Levels of Chromium Yeast to Diet on Broiler Chickens on Some Physiological Traits
...Show More Authors

The experiment was conducted at the faculty of agriculture University of Ain Shams-Egypt, from January to March 2008, to study the effect of different levels of chromium yeast (cr-yeast) on broiler chickens on some physiological traits. A total of 450, one-day old unsexed chickens (Cobb) strain were used. The birds were randomly allocated to five treatments with 3 replicates each. The treatments were control (T1), without supplementation, T2, T3, T4 and T5 which were supplemented with 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2 mg cr-yeast/kg diet respectively. Chromium yeast supplementation treatments caused a significant (p < 0.05) increase in plasma glucose levels, while supplemented Cr-yeast at levels of 1 (T3), 1.5 (T4), 2 (T5) mg/kg diet resulted in a signific

The effect of the strategy to nominate ideas on divided and selective attention and perform some volleyball skills
...Show More Authors

Introduction: Attention is a fundamental cognitive function in sports, particularly in volleyball, where players must process multiple stimuli and make rapid decisions. Effective attentional control can enhance an athlete’s ability to react to dynamic game situations. The nomination of ideas strategy. Objective: This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the nomination of ideas strategy in enhancing divided and selective attention and its subsequent impact on volleyball skill performance. Methodology: A controlled experimental design was employed, involving volleyball players divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group integrated the nomination of ideas strategy into their training sessions,

The Effect of Sodium Selenite and Vitamin A on FSH and LH Level in Albino Male Mice treated with Hexavalent Chromium
...Show More Authors

The present expermint was designed to determine the effect of Sodium Selenite (0.5 mg/kg) and Vitamin A (10 mg/kg) in FSH and LH level in Albino Male Mice treated with Hexavalent Chromium (1000 ppm). `This study included 48 mice divided into six groups (1st group treated with distilled water and the 2nd group treated with Sesame Oil were considered as control group, 3th group exposed to Hexavalent chromium , 4th group treated with Sodium Selenite and exposed to Hexavalent Chromium , 5th group treated with Vitamin A and exposed to Hexavalent Chromium and 6th group treated with Sodium Selenite and Vitamin A and exposed to Hexavalent Chromium ) . The treatment lasted for 35 days. The results showed a significant (P ? 0.05) decrease in FSH an

Synthesis, Characterization, Schiff Base Phenyl 2-(2-hydroxybenzylidenamino)benzoate and its complexes with LaIII,Cr III and Pr III
...Show More Authors

The aim of the work is the synthesis and characterization of the tridentate Schiff base (HL) containing (N and O) as donor atoms type (ONO). The ligand is: (HL) phenyl 2-(2-hydroxybenzylidenamino)benzoate . This ligand was prepared by the reaction of (phenyl 2-aminobenzoate) with salicylaldehyde under reflux in ethanol and few drops of glacial acetic acid which gave the ligand (HL). The prepared ligand was characterized by (FT IR,UV–Vis) spectroscopy, Elemental analysis of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen (C.H.N.) and melting point. The ligand was reacted with some metal ions under reflux in ethanol with (1 metal :2 ligand )mole ratio which gave complexes of the general formula: [M(L)2]Cl , M = Cr III La III and , Pr III Products were found

Modification Of Rheological Properties Of Asphalt Effect Of Addition Of Asphaltenes And Oxidized Asphaltenes On The Compatibility Of Asphalt- Sulfur Blends
...Show More Authors

This study is a complementary one to an extended series of research work that aims to produce a thermodynamiclly stable asphalt –sulfur blend. Asphalt was physically modified wiht different percentages of asphaltenes , oxidized asphaltenes and then mixed with sulfur as an attempt to obtaine a stable compatible asphalt-sulfur blend. The homogeneneity of asphalt-asphaltenes[oxidized asphaltenes]-sulfur blends were studied microscopically and the results are prsented as photomicrographs. Generally more stable and compatible asphalt-sulfur blends were obtained by this treatment.

Evaluating Expression of the STAG1 Gene as a Potential Breast Cancer Biomarker
...Show More Authors

STAG proteins, which are part of the cohesin complex and encoded by the STAG genes, are known as Irr1/Scc3 in yeast and as SA/STAG/stromalin in mammals. There are more variants as there are alternate splice sites, maybe three open reading frames (ORFs) code for three main proteins, including: SA1 (STAG1), SA2 (STAG2) and SA3 (STAG3). The cohesin protein complex has various essential roles in eukaryotic cell biology. This study compared the expression of the STAG1 gene in four different breast cancer cell lines, including: MCF-7, T-47D, MDA-MB-468, and MDA-MB-231 and normal breast tissue. RNA was extracted from these cell lines and mRNA was converted to cDNA, and then expression of the STAG1 gene was quantified by three sets of specific prim

Formulation of Alpha Tocopherol Acetate as a Powder Dosage Form by Adsorption
...Show More Authors

Alpha-tocopherol acetate is one of the most important vitamin E derivatives, that were used  as antioxidants. Adsorbents like kaolin, magnesium carbonate, and microcrystalline cellulose were used successfully to incorporate oily alpha-tocopherol acetate into an acceptable powder dosage form. The results revealed that microcrystalline cellulose as an adsorbents gave the best results with 50% loading capacity at time, 8 minutes before and after incubation period (3 months at 30C°), while kaolin and magnesium carbonate have been shown a significant difference before and after incubation. Addition of 1% w/w magnesium carbonate to the kaolin enhanced the loading capacity by decreasing the time of adsorption from 20 to 6 minutes and 47
