Depression status in relation to caries experience and salivary physiochemical characteristics among 15 years old students in Al-Swera city – Wassit Governorate-Iraq
...Show More Authors

Background: Depression is a common mental disorder that presents with depressed mood;it can become chronic or recurrent and affect dental health .Thus this research aimed to assess the prevalence and severity of dental caries among students with different grade of depression in relation to physicochemical characteristics of stimulated whole saliva. Materials and methods: The total sample involved for depression status assessment is composed of 800 students for both gender aged 15 years old that were selected randomly , This was performed using children depression inventory (CDI) index that divided the students into four groups of depression(low or average grade, high average grade, elevated grade and very elevated grade). The diagnosis and recording of dental caries was by using decay, Missing, Filled surface index (DMFs); and according to the criteria ofManji et al (1989), Salivary samples was collected from 30 student with very elevated grade of depression and 30 from low or average grade under standardized conditions, then analyzed for measuring salivary flow rate and viscosity, in addition to estimation salivary elements that includes total protein, zinc, copper, chromium and Lithium. Results: the data of the present study showed that the percentage of Caries free students was higher among very elevated grade (8.60%) followed by low or average grade (8.52%), the less was among elevated grade of depression (5.04%).Concerning caries experience, the highest result was among elevated grade of depression followed by low or average grade, the lower result was among high average grade. While the sever grade of dental caries (D4) was found to be highly significant differ among different grade of depression, The data analysis of salivary elements found that the protein was higher in very elevated grade than low or average grade while other elements show the opposite result with significant concerning copper and zinc among very elevated grade that show significant difference. DMFs correlated negatively with salivary flow rate among low or average grade and very elevated grade; while concerning salivary viscosity, the correlation was direct with DMFs. With highly significant in very elevated grade, Salivary elements show positive relation with not significant except copper that show negative relation with significant. Conclusion: The results of the current research revealed that depression status had an adverse effect on salivary physicochemical characteristics and dental status including caries experience

The status of prophecy in the Islamic faith in light of the glorious Kharida system

Knowing the Messengers, peace and blessings be upon them, and explaining their obligatory, impossible, and permissible qualities is a legal necessity. It is a rooting of the faith, a means of understanding the Sharia, and a preventer from falling into the scourge of denial and bad manners against them. Therefore, sound belief in their presence is a major reason for the validity of the faith in the aspect of divinity and unseen hearing. Studying the status of prophethood is an urgent necessity in a time in which knowledge is scarce and attachment to the Messenger, may God Almighty’s prayers and peace be upon him, his family, and his companions, is weak, and suspicions and ideas hostile to the faith abound until we begin to hear - unfort

Assessing Antimicrobial Prescribing Patterns and Antimicrobial Resistance in Dhi Qar Governorate Hospitals; A retrospective study.
...Show More Authors

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global concern, especially in low- and middle-income countries, threatening food production, healthcare, and life expectancy. Antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) programs can optimize antibiotic use, improve patient outcomes, lower AMR, and save healthcare costs. This observational-retrospective study in Dhi Qar Governorate aimed to assess antimicrobial prescribing patterns in Al-Nasiriya public hospitals. Dhi Qar Health Directorate comprises ten hospitals, and only one hospital was excluded from the study. The study used data from antibiotic stewardship committees, including antibiogram, antibiotic, and meropenem surveys, hospital pharmacies’ medical files, and the directorate statistics from 1/1/2

The aim of the study is to identify the barriers to dietary compliance among diabetic patients.
Methodology: The sample of the study consist of 100 patients who were divided into two groups according to
the type of diabetes mellitus; type 1 (Insulin-dependent diabetic mellitus), and type n (Non-Insulin dependent
diabetes mellitus). Each group consists of 50 patient selected randomly at each visit to Al-Waffa center in Mosul
city during the period from (1-12-2005) to (1-2-2006).
The steps of the study include recording the different barriers for diabetic patients. The questionnaire
was used and special list was utilized for such purpose.
Results: The results shows that there were some barriers most common such as both

Electrical Resistivity Synthetic Modeling and Field Survey for Subsurface Features Investigation of the Borsippa Archaeological Site, Babylon Governorate, Middle Iraq
...Show More Authors

The selection of proper field survey parameters of electrical resistivity can significantly provide efficient results within a reasonable time and cost. Four electrode arrays of 2D Electric Resistivity Imaging (ERI) surveys were applied to characterize and detect subsurface archaeological bodies and to determine the appropriate array type that should be applied in the field survey. This research is to identify the subsurface features of the Borsippa archaeological site, Babylon Governorate, Middle Iraq. Synthetic modeling studies were conducted to determine the proper array and parameters for imaging the shallow subsurface features or targets. The efficiency of many array types has been tested for the detection the buried archaeolog

The research aims to know the impact of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education on both creative thinking and mathematical achievement. To achieve it, the two researchers followed the quasi-experimental approach with an experimental design for two groups, one experimental and the other a control. The research sample consisted of (32) female students from the fourth scientific grade in Al-Intisar Preparatory School for Girls/ AlRasafa, First Directorate. The sample was chosen intentionally and was divided into two groups: a control group studying by the traditional method, their number (16), and an experimental group that applied the STEM approach, their number also (16). There was parity between the two research groups i
