Evaluation of the effectiveness of coenzyme Q10 gel in management of patients with chronic periodontitis (I intra group comparison)
...Show More Authors

Background: Periodontal pathogens can induce free radicals over-formation and thus may cause collagen and periodontal destruction. Anti-oxidants are used as supplements to counteract the over production of free radicals in periodontal disease, that can reduce of collagen destruction. Coenzyme Q10 serves as an endogenous antioxidant, regenerates other antioxidants, stimulates cell growth, and inhibits cell death. Because it is an antioxidant, coenzyme Q10 has received much research attention associated with periodontal diseases. Perio Q gel may possibly be effective as a topical agent and as an adjunct to scaling& root planing in treatment of gingivitis and chronic periodontitis. Aim of study:Determine the periodontal health status in a follow up study for 6 weeks of a group of patients with chronic periodontitis by measuring clinical periodontal parameters, which included (Plaque index, Gingival index, Bleeding on Probing, Probing Pocket Depth and Relative Attachment Level) and to evaluate the effect of intra pocket application of perio Q gel (coenzyme Q10) alone & as adjunct to scaling,& root planing on the periodontal clinical parameters in the management of patients with chronic periodontitis. Materials and methods: A total of 323 sites with pocket depth (5-8) mm in patients with chronic periodontitis were randomly divided in three groups. The Gel group, 111 sites were treated with intra-pocket application of Perio Q gel alone. In the Combination group, 106 sites were treated with scaling and root planning (SRP) plus intra- pocket application of Perio Q gel, in Scaling and root planing group, 106 sites were treated with scaling and root planing alone. Clinical periodontal parameters such as Plaque index (PI), Gingival index (GI), Bleeding on probing (BOP), Probing pocket depth (PPD), Relative attachment level (RAL) were assessed at first visit, 3weeks and 6weeks. Results: on intra-group analysis, all groups showed highly significant reduction in PI, GI, BOP, PPD and RAL among the three visits .On inter-group analysis, the results showed significant reduction in the clinical parameters PPD and RAL of combination group in comparison to SRP group. Conclusion: The results of the research were encouraging and suggested the possibility to use the gel as a sole agent to support standard treatment procedures in periodontitis. The clinical parameters significantly improved in the phase of periodontal treatment, indicating that CoQ10 opens new treatment options by improving the host response to disease activity.

Evaluation of the Serum Asprosin Levels in Patients with Double Diabetes
...Show More Authors

Background : Double diabetes (DD) is the term used to describe situations in which a patient exhibits characteristics that are a combination of type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM) and type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) a large epidemiological study found that 25.5% of people with T1D also had the metabolic syndrome. A new protein hormone called asprosin is predominantly released by white adipose tissue. It was initially discovered in 2016 . Asprosin is important diagnoses marker for insulin resistant in diabetes patients ,additionally is very important denotation about early diagnoses of type 2 diabetes. Objectives: The current study aims to find predictive significance of diagnosis a double diabetes by evaluating the asprosin in the blood serum of

The Effectiveness of Deductive Group Pattern in Developing the Creative Thinking of Second Intermediate Grade Pupils in History Discipline
...Show More Authors

The present study aims to identify the effectiveness of deductive group patterns in developing the creative thinking of second-intermediate-grade pupils in history discipline. The current null hypothesis has been investigated: There are no statistically significant differences at (0.05) between the scores mean of the experimental group pupils who were taught according to the deductive group pattern and the scores mean of the control group pupils who were taught according to traditional method in creative thinking testing. the study sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group of (30) female students and a control group of (31) female students. The two groups are equalized based on the variables of age, the scores of the firs

Serum and salivary levels of thyroid antibodies (TPO-Ab&Tg-Ab) in the of hypothyroid patients with and without periodontitis
...Show More Authors

Hypothyroidism is the decrease in thyroid hormones production and thyroid gland function. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is the most common cause of hypothyroidism with production of autoantibodies directed toward autoantigens thyroglobulin (Tg) and thyroid peroxidase (TPO). This study was carried out to determine and compare serum and salivary levels of thyroid antibodies (TPO-Ab and Tg- Ab) in hypothyroid patients (with and without periodontitis) and healthy control; as well as to estimate the possibility to evaluate and measured these antibodies in the saliva as measured in the serum. Serum and saliva samples were collected from sixty hypothyroid patients with age ranged (20-64) years (30 of patients were with periodontitis and 30 without per

Background: Chronic periodontitis defined as “an infectious inflammatory disease within supporting tissues of the teeth, progressive attachment loss and bone loss". Aggressive periodontitis is rare which in most cases manifest themselves clinically during youth. It characterized by rapid rate of disease progression .Pro-inflammatory chemokines organized inflammatory responses. Granulocyte chemotactic protein 2 is involved in neutrophil gathering and movement. The purpose of the study is to detect serum of Granulocyte Chemotactic Protein 2 and correlate to periodontal condition in patients with chronic periodontitis, Aggressive periodontitis and Healthy Control subjects and measurement the count of neutrophils for the studied groups. Assessment of Salivary α-amylase and Flow Rate Levels and Their Correlation with Gingivitis and Severity of Chronic Periodontitis (Part: 1)
...Show More Authors

Background: Periodontal diseases are bacterial infections of the gingiva, bone and attachment fibers that support the teeth and hold them in the jaw. α-amylase is an enzyme, produced mainly by parotid gland and it seems to play a role in maintaining mucosal immunity. Aims of the study: Determine the salivary levels of α-Amylase and flow rate and their correlations with clinical periodontal parameters(Plaque Index , Gingival Index , Bleeding on Probing , Probing Pocket Depth , and Clinical Attachment Level ) and the correlation between α-Amylase with flow rate of study groups that consist of ( patients had gingivitis and patients had chronic periodontitis with different severities(mild ,moderate ,severe) and control group .
