Background: The main purpose of this study is to find if there is any correlation between the level of C-reactive protein (CRP) in gingival crevicular fluid with its serum level in chronic periodontitis patients and to explore the differences between them according to the probing depth. Materials and methods: Forty seven male subjects enrolled in this study. Thirty males with chronic periodontitis considered as study group whom further subdivided according to probing depth into subgroup 1 with pocket depth ≤6mm, subgroup 2 with pocket depth >6mm. The other 17 subjects considered as controls. For all subjects, clinical examination where done for periodontal parameters plaque index (PLI), gingival index (GI), bleeding on probing (BOP), probing pocket depth (PPD) and clinical attachment level (CAL). The gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) were collected using filter paper size 30 from gingival sulcus of the controls and from (138) pocket site (75 sites > 6mm. and 63 ≤ 6mm.). The weight of the GCF was measured by reading the difference in the weight of filter paper before and after absorption of GCF. Crevicular level of CRP was measured calorimetrically. The serum level CRP was measured using latex test. Results: Highly significant difference in the weight of GCF, crevicular and serum level of CRP between chronic periodontitis and control groups. Subgroup 2 got higher scores of weight of GCF and positive record of crevicular and serum CRP compared with subgroup 1 with a non-significant difference. A highly significant difference in the number of sites with positive crevicular and serum CRP compared to the negative number between chronic periodontitis and control groups also between subgroup1 and subgroup 2. Weight of GCF gets a negative significant correlation with GI at control group and subgroup2. Serum level of CRP exhibits a negative significant correlation with PLI for chronic periodontitis and control group and positive significant correlation for GI at subgroup 1. The crevicular CRP get significant negative correlation with GI of subgroup 1. Conclusions: Crevicular fluid is very good marker for the degree of inflammation of the periodontal pocket. The crevicular level of CRP may be considered as a good tool for estimating the systemic effect and predictor for the effect of periodontitis on the general health and the correlation of crevicular with serum CRP aid to high light this effect.
Due to the lack of statistical researches in studying with existing (p) of Exogenous Input variables, and there contributed in time series phenomenon as a cause, yielding (q) of Output variables as a result in time series field, to form conceptual idea similar to the Classical Linear Regression that studies the relationship between dependent variable with explanatory variables. There are many survival models that deal with the impact of explanatory factors on the likelihood of survival, including the models proposed by the world, David Cox, one of the most important and common models of survival, where it consists of two functions, one of which is a parametric function that does not depend on the survival time and the other a nonparametric function that depends on times of survival, which the Cox model is defined as a semi parametric model, The set of parametric models that depend on the time-to-event distribution parameters such as

Show MoreLow-Density-Parity-Check (LDPC) codes are a cornerstone for achieving robust error correction capabilities in 5G New Radio applications, significantly improving the reliability of data transmission across noisy and unpredictable wireless channels. Since an evaluation and discussion of the performance with channel coding is significantly absent in two-dimensional Index Modulation (IM)-Differential Chaos Shift Keying (DCSK) schemes. Therefore, in this study, the 5G new radio LDPC codes based generalized joint subcarrier-time index modulation DCSK system (5G NR-LDPC-GJSTIM-DCSK) is proposed, where 5G NR-LDPC codes are used as channel coding. The aim is to improve the system’s performance specifically across AWGN (additive white gauss

Show MoreThe control of an aerial flexible joint robot (FJR) manipulator system with underactuation is a difficult task due to unavoidable factors, including, coupling, underactuation, nonlinearities, unmodeled uncertainties, and unpredictable external disturbances. To mitigate those issues, a new robust fixed-time sliding mode control (FxTSMC) is proposed by using a fixed-time sliding mode observer (FxTSMO) for the trajectory tracking problem of the FJR attached to the drones system. First, the underactuated FJR is comprehensively modeled and converted to a canonical model by employing two state transformations for ease of the control design. Then, based on the availability of the measured states, a cascaded FxTSMO (CFxTSMO) is constructed to estim

Show MoreObjective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Benson Relaxation Technique (BRT) in reducing pain during femoral artery sheath removal after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods and Materials: A randomized controlled trial was conducted at three cardiac centers in Iraq. A total of 58 patients undergoing therapeutic PCI were randomly assigned into two groups: intervention (n=27) and control (n=31). The intervention group received BRT for 10 minutes before and after sheath removal. Pain was assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) immediately after the procedure. Demographic data and clinical variables were collected. Data were analyzed using SPSS v26 and non-parametric tests (Mann-Whitney U, Krus

Show MoreThe purpose of this paper is to identifying the values of some physical and Bio- Kinematic variables during the performance of the jump spike serve skill, and identifying the effect of the proposed training program using intermittent training to develop some physical and Bio- Kinematic variables and accuracy of the jump spike serve skill among the research sample. The experimental method was used and the research was conducted on a deliberately chosen sample of the players of the Army Club, who were primarily advanced in volleyball, and the number of the sample was (10) players. The conclusions were reached that the proposed training program using intermittent training has a positive effect on some of the physical and Bio- Kinematic variabl

The aim of this paper is to shed the light on saliva and serum total peroxidases activity as well as the activity of each of salivary peroxidase (SPO) and myeloperoxidase (MPO) in patients with oral tumors. The studied participants were divided into two groups: the first group included 18 oral squamous cell carcinoma patients and 20 age and gender-matched healthy controls while the second group consisted of 20 oral ossifying fibroma patients and 23 age and gender-matched healthy controls. Total peroxidases activity was determined, and its specific activity was calculated in serum and whole mixed saliva as well as in the supernatant and pellet fractions

This research is designed to estimate potential protective effect of vinpocetine on neurotoxicity stimulated by lead acetate in rats.
Eighteen adult rats of both sexes were randomly enrolled into three groups. Each group includes 6 rats as followings: Group I- Rats were given 0.3ml normal saline solution orally; then intraperitoneal injection of 100μl of the normal saline was given 1h later; this group was considered as control. Group II- Rats were given an intraperitoneal injection of 20mg/kg lead acetate
