Background: Antibacterial action of root canal filling is an important factor for successful root canal treatment, so the aim of the study was to identify and to compare the antimicrobial effect of new sealer (GuttaFlow) to commonly used endodontic sealers (AH Plus, Apexit and EndoFill) against four endodontic microbes. Materials and methods: Twenty patients aged (30-40) years with infected root canals were selected. Four types of microorganisms were isolated from root canals (E faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, E coli and Candida albicans) and cultured on Mueller Hinton agar Petri-dishes. After identification and isolation of bacterial species, agar diffusion method was used to assess the antibacterial action of four contemporary endodontic sealers used in root canal obturation (AH Plus, Apexit, EndoFill and GuttafFlow). Four wells measuring (5mm depth and 4mm diameter) were created in each Petri dish and sealer was applied into them incubated overnight at 37 C° for bacterial species and 48 hr. at 37 C° for Candida albicans prior to determination of results. Zones of inhibition (no growth of bacteria) were examined around the wells containing sealer & diameters of the zones were measured in mm. The mean of inhibition zones for each group was measured and statistically analyzed among groups using ANOVA and between groups using LSD tests. Results: There was a highly significant difference (P<0.001) among all the tested groups. EndoFill showed the maximum antibacterial action against tested microorganisms. GuttaFlow showed moderate to weak antimicrobial effect, Apexit had weak effect, while AH Plus had no antibacterial action. Conclusion: All the tested materials except AH Plus had antibacterial efficacy against E faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, E coli and Candida albicans. EndoFill had favorable results among tested sealers and E faecalis was the most resistant bacteria, but none of the materials totally inhibited microbial growth. Thus, endodontic treatment must be performed under aseptic conditions.
Background: Odontogenic tumors are a diverse group of lesions with a variety of clinical behavior and histopathologic subtypes, from hamartomatous and benign to malignant. The study aimed to examine the clinical and pathological features of odontogenic tumors in Baghdad over the last 11 years (2011–2021). Materials and Methods: The present retrospective study analyzed all formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue blocks of patients diagnosed with an odontogenic tumor that were retrieved from archives at a teaching hospital/College of Dentistry in Baghdad University, Iraq, between 2011 and 2021. The diagnosis of each case was confirmed by examining the hematoxylin and eosin stained sections by two expert pathologists. Data from pati

The study concentrate on phylogenic groups and this was done based on triplex PCRmethod by primers besieged to three genetic markers, chuA, yjaA and TspE4.C2. Evaluate the relationship of phylogenic groups of E. coli isolates with the antibiotic-non sensitive patterns. Methodology:Four hundredof E.coli bacteria isolated from urine samples from five hospitals in Baghdad city include: Ghazi AL-Hariri, Ibin- Al-Beledi , AL-Iskan , AL-Nooman and AL-Yarmoke hospitals. This research has come out with that strategies made by Porter as generally strategies applicable to any size and type of economic units cannot be applied to many of the economic units in the world in generally and in Iraq especially not a lot of economic units have the resources and competencies that enable them to provide a unique product of its kind in the minds of customers and then adopt a differentiation strategy and not a lot of economic units have the resources and competencies that make them the cost leader. Differentiators and cost leaders are minority in the world while not differentiators and not cost leaders are majority in the world.
The economic units are not differentiators and not c

Early functional recovery is extremely important for elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fractures to shorten their hospital stay, omit the necessity of the further nursing and care services, and reduce associated medical expenditures . Assessment of (ADL) is an important predictor of outcomes Of orthopedic surgery in very early postoperative period at two weeks and a month postoperatively using Japanese orthopedic score get a quick recovery of ADL & return the patient to his or her premorbid level function reducing the morbidity and mortality.

Polyphenols are one of the most important groups of secondary metabolites of plants, which have an antioxidant activity depending on their properties as hydrogen donors. Echinops polyceras Boiss. (Asteraceae) is one of Echinops genus species that spread in Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine. Phytochemicals found in this species leaves have been extracted with gradient polarity solvents, and primary screening of the secondary metabolites was established. The phenolic compounds and flavonoids contents were determined. The free radicals scavenging activity was evaluated for all

Sixty patients with RA and matched number of apparently healthy volunteers were included in the study. Spectrophotometric methods were used to determine Peroxy nitrite (ONOO), Nitric oxide (NO), Nitric oxide synthase activity (NOS) cycloxygenase-2 activity (COX-2), glutathione peroxidase (GPX) activity and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in serum of both groups. Colorimetric assay kits were used to determine Iron. Rheumatoid factor (RF) was determined using Imuno-Latex kit. ONOO, NO levels, and NOS activity were significantly higher in the patients compared to the control group. Conversely, Iron level, SOD

Materials and methods: Eighty Iraqi adult subjects (40 males and 40 females) with an age ranged between 18-25 years having class I normal occlusion were chosen for this study. Each individual was subjected to clinical examination and digital standardized right side photographic records were taken in the natural head position which is mirror position which the patient looking straight into his eyes into the mirror mounted on the stand.
