An evaluation of canal transportation and centering ability at different levels of root canals prepared by self-adjusting file using computed tomography (A comparative study)
...Show More Authors

Background: The new concepts and technologies continue to change the dynamics of endodontic practices in the world. Rapid and significant changes in techniques, instrument design, and the type of metals used to manufacture endodontic instruments which have been made during the last few years in an attempt to overcome canal preparation errors. The purpose of this study is to measure and compare canal transportation and centering ability of Self Adjusting File with two rotary nickel-titanium (Ni-Ti) systems, ProTaper and BioRaCe at different levels. Material and Methods: Forty five distal roots of mandibular first molars with moderate curvature were selected using Schneider method. Roots were divided randomly into 3 groups of 15 each and were scanned using Computed Tomography (Initial scan). After canal preparation with ProTaper (group A), BioRaCe (group B), and Self Adjusting File (group C) the roots were rescanned (Final scan), the degree of canal transportation and centering ability were assessed at apical (4 mm), middle (6 mm), coronal (9 mm) sections using computed tomography. The collected data were statistically analyzed using ANOVA and Least Significant Difference tests. Results: There were no statistically significant differences among the groups at level 4 mm and level 9 mm (P ? 0.05). However, at level 6 mm there was a highly significant difference between (A) and (B) groups (P ? 0.01) and there was a significant difference between (A) and (C) groups (P ? 0.05). There were no statistically significant differences among different levels of (A) and (C) groups (P ? 0.05), while (B) group showed a highly significant difference between 4 mm and 9 mm levels and between 6 mm and 9 mm levels (P ? 0.01). Regarding canal centering ability, there was no statistically significant difference among the three groups at different levels (P ? 0.05)., while (B) group showed a significant difference between 4 mm and 9 mm levels (P ? 0.05), and a very highly significant difference between 6 mm and 9 mm levels (P ? 0.001). Conclusion: The study demonstrated that canal preparation with the three designs of Ni-Ti instruments produced canal transportation. Self Adjusting File group showed less canal transportation than ProTaper group. There was a comparable value of canal centering ability among different levels in each group except in BioRaCe group.

DIAGNOSTIC VALUE OF N-TERMINAL PRO BRAIN NATRIURETIC PEPTIDE (NT-PRO BNP) IN IRAQI CHILDREN WITH HEART FAILURE
...Show More Authors

Heart failure (HF) is characterized by family history and clinical examination combined with diagnostic tools such as electrocardiogram, chest x-ray and an assessment of left ventricular function by echocardiography. An early diagnosis of heart failure is still based on symptoms of dyspnea, fatigue and signs of fluid overload. Serum N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-pro BNP) is cardiac biomarker has emerged as potential predictor of heart failure. It is used as a sensitive biomarker in diagnosis and assessment severity of heart failure. This study assed the diagnostic value of (NT-pro BNP), in Iraqi children patients with heart failure and its correlation with LVEF% especially in emergency rooms of hospitals.Ninety (90) consecut

Abstract: Aluminum alloys grade 6061-T6 are characterized by their excellent properties and processing characteristics which make them ideal for varieties of industrial applications under cyclic loading, aluminum alloys show less fatigue life than steel alloys of similar strength. In the current study, a nanosecond fiber laser of maximum pulse energy up to 9.9 mJ was used to apply laser shock peening process (LSP) on aluminum thin sheets to introduce residual stresses in order to enhance fatigue life under cyclic loading Box-Behnken design (BBD) based on the design of experiments (DOE) was employed in this study for experimental design data analysis, model building and optimization The effect of working parameters spot size (ω), scannin

The role of Islamic banks to attract savings to funding banking activities in Iraq For period (2008-2012)
...Show More Authors

Islamic banks are a financial institution that is interested in attracting financial savings from financial entities and directing them towards those with financial deficits, both for consumption purposes or for investment purposes. It provides banking services provided by commercial banks and other services But based on the principles and principles of Islamic law, and because of its recent emergence in Iraq, its ability to attract savings is not like non-Islamic commercial banks, which puts them in the option of using their capital to achieve its objective of banking. The research started from the premise that "Islamic banks in Iraq during the period (2008-2012) rely on their capital to perform their activities more than they rely on d

Association of Microrna-153-3p Expression in Response to Treatment with Imatinib in Patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia
...Show More Authors

The study aimed to establish the association of miR-153-3p expression with treatment response to IM in CML patients. Sixty CML patients were included and divided into two groups consistent with their response to treatment whether sensitive or resistant to IM. Ten healthy normal participants were enrolled as control group. RNA was extracted from serum to work out miR-153-3p expression utilizing real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. The primers were supplied by Macrogen Inc. Twenty seven patients were sensitive to imatinib and 33 were resistant to imatinib. The ratio of male to female was 1.14:1. The bulk (58%) of patients were within the age range of 41-60 years. Weight and gender did not significantly diffe

Pots experiment was conducted at the greenhouse of botanical garden belong to Department of Biology, College of Education for Pure Science, Ibn-AL-Haithum, University of Baghdad, for growth season 2018-2019. The aim of the experiment was to study the effects of foliar application of a-tocopherol concentrations (0, 50, 100, 150, 200 mg.L-1) on growth parameters and the activity of some antioxidant enzymes of wheat plant irrigated with sodium chloride concentrations (0, 75, 150, 225) mM.L-1. Salinity reduced plant growth parameter, plant height, flag leaf area, flag leaf chlorophyll content and increased the activity of antioxidant enzymes, superoxide dismutase and peroxidase. Plant growth parameters were enhanced by foliar application of a-t
