The present study is an attempt to show how the three Umayyad poets ; Jarir , Al-
Farazdaq and Al-Akhtal have consciously and skillfully employed in their poetry som ancient
Arab legends ,historical events and wars as they provide atrue image of the values and
customs of the peoples who lived before them .
Their employed , how ever, takes avarying degrees depending, to alarge extent , an the
vast but personal knowledge of each poet the past tradition , and practices . Jarir ,in many
respects out , stands the first , Al-Farazdaq , the second and Al-Akhtal , the third .

Internal curing is a method that has been advised to decrease the primary age cracking, mainly of concrete mixes using low (water to cementitious materials - w/cm) ratios corresponding to the self-compacting concrete-(SCC). This research aims to study the effect of the internal curing using saturated lightweight aggregate- (LWA) on the steel reinforcing corrosion in SCC. The study included calculating levels of lead, cadmium, zinc, copper, nickel, chromium, and iron in the Baghdad Belt region using geochemical indicators, including the Integrated Pollution Index (IPI) and the Risk Index (RI). Data variations were observed between the agricultural and industrial areas studied, reflecting differences in heavy metal levels. The highest concentrations of lead (89 mg/kg), cadmium (1.9 mg/kg), zinc (133 mg/kg), copper (77 mg/kg), nickel (91 mg/kg), chromium (100 mg/kg), and iron (25,000 mg/kg) were recorded in Abu Ghraib. Pollution indices showed moderate to severe levels, ranging from 1.23 in Al-Tarmiya to a maximum of 2.28 in Abu Ghraib.

This research aimed to predict the permanent deformation (rutting) in conventional and rubberized asphalt mixes under repeated load conditions using the Finite Element Method (FEM). A three-dimensional (3D) model was developed to simulate the Wheel Track Testing (WTT) loading. The study was conducted using the Abaqus/Standard finite element software. The pavement slab was simulated using a nonlinear creep (time-hardening) model at 40°C.
