The frontal sinus dimensions in mouth and nasal breathers in Iraqi adult subjects
...Show More Authors

Background: The frontal sinus area can be used as a diagnostic aid to recognize mouth breather subjects. The aims of this study were to determine the gender difference in each group, to compare the frontal sinus area between mouth breather and nasal breather group, and to verify the presence of correlation between the frontal sinus area and the cephalometric skeletal measurements used in this study. Materials and Methods: Cephalometric radiographs were taken for 60 adults (30 mouth breathers and 30 nasal breathers) age range (18-25), for each group 15 males and 15 females, in the orthodontic clinic in the college of Dentistry at Baghdad University. The control group (nasal breather) with skeletal class I and ANB angle ranged between 2-4º, and have clinically class I occlusion. The cephalometric measurement for each group were taken, the cephalometric radiographs were analyzed by using AutoCAD 2007 program. Results and Conclusions: In comparison to nasal breather the mouth breather has larger Gonial angle giving a tendency to posterior rotation with growth of the mandible. The mouth breather has less maxillary length than the nasal breather. No effect of gender in mouth breather on gonial, SNA and SNB angles, no effect of gender in nasal breather on gonial angle, while the other cephalometric measurements were higher in males than females in each group. The mouth breather showed more anteroposterior extent of anterior cranial base; also the mouth breather show an increase in all facial height than the nasal breathers, the frontal sinus area is smaller in mouth breather than in nasal breather. The frontal sinus area showed correlation for both groups (Mouth and nasal breather) with maxillary Length, mandibular length, ramal length, S-N length, TAFH, UAFH, LAFH, TPFH, LPFH, and UPFH. There is only correlation of frontal sinus with the SNA and SNB angles in nasal breather and no significant correlation for both groups with the gonial angle.

Red Laser Irradiation Effect on the Structural Properties of MawsoniteCu6Fe2SnS8 [CFTS] Thin Films Deposited via Semi-Computerized Spray Pyrolysis Technique
...Show More Authors

The existing investigation explains the consequence of irradiation of violet laser on the structure properties of MawsoniteCu6Fe2SnS8 [CFTS] thin films. The film was equipped by the utilization of semi-computerized spray pyrolysis technique (SCSPT), it is the first time that this technique is used in the preparation and irradiation using a laser. when the received films were processed by continuous red laser (700 nm) with power (>1000mW) for different laser irradiation time using different number of times a laser scan (0, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 times) with total irradiation time (0,30,45,60,75,90 min) respectively at room temperature.. The XRD diffraction gave polycrysta

Conflict of Identities Among Immigrants: A Study of Jamaica Kincaid’s Lucy and Hassan Blasim’s Nightmares of Carlos Fuentes صراع الهويات بين المهاجرين: دراسة في قصة لوسي لجامايكا كينكايد وقصة حسن بلاسم كوابيس كارلوس فوينتس

The struggle between two identities is a crucial subject everywhere. Some people travel abroad in quest of a new identity after struggling at home. People migrate and embrace a new identity for different reasons. They find themselves in a state of internal conflict as they navigate the tension between their newly adopted identities and their old ones. The individual is haunted and overwhelmed by their previous experiences. This research explores the universality of the subject matter by examining the motivations underlying the adoption of a new identity in a distinct geographical and temporal context. This paper examines the literary works of Kincaid's Lucy (1990) and Blasim's "The Nightmares of Carlos Fuentes" (2014). Kincaid’s pro

Synthesis of Titanium Dioxide Nanoparticles for Removal of Pb2+, Cd2+ and Cr3+ from Wastewater

Water pollution is widely regarded as one of the most pressing global challenges, exacerbated by human progress in industrial, agricultural, and technological sectors. Wastewater often contains non-biodegradable heavy metals that accumulate in living organisms. This accumulation poses significant risks to both environmental ecosystems and human health. The structures and surface morphology were characterized by FTIR, UV-vis measurements, XRD, SEM, and AFM. TiO2 nanoparticles could remove heavy metal ions (Pb2+, Cd2+, and Cr3+) from two samples (laboratory samples and real samples from Babylon battery factory in Al-Waziriya, Baghdad/Iraq) and measured by AAS. The results indicated that the removal percentages of heavy metal ions by T

The (L-as am) ligand complexes were obtained by the reaction of (L-as-am) with [M(II) = Co,Ni,Cu, and Zn] metal ions. The synthesized complexes are characterized by Uv–Visible (Ft –IR), mass spectroscopy molar ratio, molar conductivity, and Magnetic susceptibility techniques. (
