Background: Periodontal diseases are bacterial infections of the gingiva, bone and attachment fibers that support the teeth and hold them in the jaw. Lactoferrin is a multifunctional glycoprotein and it is the main component of neutrophil polymorphonuclear leukocytes that activated during inflammatory processes such as Periodontal diseases Aims of the study: Determine the salivary levels of Lactoferrin and pH and their correlations with clinical periodontal parameters(Plaque Index , Gingival Index , Bleeding on Probing , Probing Pocket Depth , and Clinical Attachment Level ) and the correlation between Lactoferrin with potential of hydrogen ion (PH) ,flow rate and α-amylase of study groups that consisted of patients had gingivitis and patients had chronic periodontitis with different severities(mild ,moderate ,severe) and control group . Materials and Methods: Salivary Lactoferrin and pH levels were measured from 75 males, age ranged (30-45) years old, that divided into study groups (group of 45 chronic periodontitis patients with different severities which sub-grouped into (Mild=15, Moderate=15 and Severe=15), group of 15 patients with gingivitis) and control group comprised 15 subjects had clinically healthy periodontium. Results: The levels of salivary Lactoferrin in patients had severe chronic periodontitis were the highest followed by moderate chronic periodontitis then the mild chronic periodontitis then patients had gingivitis. Highly significant differences were demonstrated among the control, gingivitis and chronic periodontitis subgroups and between each pairs of chronic periodontitis subgroups. pH increased in gingivitis group and decreased in chronic periodontitis group with its different severities. Highly significant strong positive correlations between Lactoferrin with clinical periodontal parameters at all groups and subgroups. Conclusions: The findings of the present study suggest that salivary Lactoferrin can help to monitor the progression of the periodontal disease.
This study was conducted to detect the relationship between organic content in the sediment of Rivers Tigris and Diyala, at two locations south of Baghdad, with some environmental factors and the benthic invertebrates and values of diversity indices. Monthly samples collected from the area for the period November 2007 to October 2008. Results showed differences in the physical and chemical characteristics of the two sites, Where the annual average in Tigris and Diyala were respectively for: water temperature (19, 20) C°, pH (8, 8), dissolved oxygen (4, 8) mg / l , Biochemical oxygen Demand BOD5 (3,44 ) mg/l, TDS (632,1585) mg / l, TSS (42, 44) mg / l, turbidity (28,74) NTU, and total hardness as CaCO3 (485,823) mg / l ,Sulfat

For this reason, the researcher set three goals for the current research: identifying the level of social exclusion among people infected with the Coronavirus. The incubation period of the virus. Social exclusion and its relationship to the duration of incubation of the disease among people infected with the Coronavirus. The result showed that the research sample does not suffer from social exclusion. The mean value for the period from
(8-14) days is the highest value followed by the period (1-7) days and the period
(14 days or more) comes at the end. There is no statistically sig

Approximately 92% of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus demonstrate insulin resistance, however hyperglycemia is always a consequence of insulin deficiency. This study was done on 120 patients newly diagnosed diabetes type 2 characterized by dyslipidemia that is increased triglycerides and decreased HDL. Hypoglycemia and weight gain are common problem with oral sulfonyl urea drugs. In this work three different oral hypoglycemic drugs repaglinide and glibenclamide (insulin secretagogues) and rosiglitazone (insulin sensitizer) were used for treatment of patients w

Approximately 35% of HER2-amplified breast cancers have coamplification of the topoisomerase II-alpha (TOP2A) gene encoding an enzyme that is a major target of anthracyclines. Hence, the determination of genetic alteration (amplification or deletion) of both genes is considered as an important predictive factor that determines the response of breast cancer patients to treatment. The aims of this study are to determinate TOP2A status gene amplification in a set of Iraqi patients with breast cancer that have had an equivocal (2+) and positive HER2/neu by immunohistochemistry

The aim of this current study to see how ellagic acid act to Attenuates 5-FU-Induced Intestinal Mucositis and Diarrhea in Mice . we induced the intestinal mucositis by injected the mice intraperitoneally in 5-fluorouracil about 50mg per kg daily for

The compounds that prepared have been defined via; chloride content, F.T-IR, UV-Vis 1H-NMR spectroscopy and C.H.N.S, as well as conductance and magnetic susceptibility. All data which collected from such methods specified complexes with 6 coordinates in solution and solid states. The biologicalactivity that is related to all the prepared compounds which were screened for their antimicrobial activitiesagainst (G+ and (G- )). The data that collected from biological activity indicate that complexes will have extra activity against such teste

Each experiment involved the cultivation of a different plant species, and the study duration was from September 15, 2021, to August 1, 2022. A Strip-Plot Design experiment was conducted using two factors: factor M with four levels of substrates (50% peatmoss and perlite (M1), 50% Vermicompost and perlite (M2), 50% Water hyacinth compost and perlite (M3), 50% wheat straw compost and perlite (M4)) and factor S with

The structure of Schiff base was obtained by (C.H.N.) microanalysis, Mass, 1HNMR, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectral methods and thermal analysis. Metal mixed ligand complexes of some metal(II) salts with Schiff base ligand and anthranilic acid were prepared in the molar ratio (1:2:2), (Metal):(SBL)2:(Anthra)2, (SBL)= Schiff base ligand, (Anthra) =anthranilic acid and Metal= Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II). The thermal behaviour (TGA) of the complexes was studied. The prepared complexes identified by using mass, thermal analysis, FT.IR and UV-Vis spectrum methods, on otherwise flame
