Effect of modified nanohydroxyapatite fillers addition on some properties of heat cured acrylic denture base materials
...Show More Authors

Background: Poly (methylmethacrylate) is not ideal in every aspect and has disadvantages such as insufficient surface hardness, increase water sorption and poor impact resistance and the latter being the primary cause of fracture of denture base resins. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of addition of silanized nano- hydroxyapatite (HA) on some properties of heat cured acrylic denture base material. Materials and methods: HA nano particles were first silanized with MPS (tri methacryloxypropyletrimethoxy silane coupling agent) then ultrasonicated with methylmethacrylate (monomer) to disperse agglomerated nano particles and mixed with polymer. 2% by wt of HA nano particles was selected as the best concentration that added to the denture base material according to the pilot study.(100) specimens were prepared by conventional water bath processing technique and divided to two groups: 50 specimens for control group or 0% HA and 50 for experimental group or 2% HA then each group was subdivided to five groups with 10 specimens for each test: impact strength, transverse strength, surface hardness, surface roughness, water sorption and water solubility. Results: highly significant increase in impact strength and surface hardness after addition of 2% HA nano particles but not significant decrease in water sorption whereas solubility was significantly decreased. Surface roughness was significantly increased as compared with control group but remained within the acceptable limit less than 2m. HA nanoparticles addition highly decreased the transverse strength value. Conclusion The addition of 2% HA nano particles considerably improved the impact strength, surface hardness and had positive effect on water sorption and solubility. Whereas the same concentration tend to highly decreased transverse strength and increase surface roughness.

؛ ١٨his study male and female albino mice werdministr^d doses of alkaloid and phenolic extracts of Allium cepa at doses of( 25 ,50,100, 200) mg / kg of( body weight). males and females were divided into four groups and each croup comprised mice were injected intra^ritonially daily for one week and orally ٢٠٢ one month . After which animals were killed and the serum was separated for biochemical analysis (total blood suger, total protein , otal cholesterol). Results showed significant decrease ( p< 0,05) in the total blood suger and total cholesterol on the serum of both males and females and significant increase( p< 0,05) in the total serum protein of both males and females of the two types of injection and oral administr

The Effect Of Suggested Exercises On Developing Some Mental Abilities For Children Aged 4-6 Years
...Show More Authors

The purpose of the current article lies in determining  the impact of the suggestive  exercises on the development of  the mental capabilities of children. The researchers used the experimental method with a single-group design, which was appropriate for the core of the current article . The study samble  has been specified as children aged 4-6 years in Umm Al-Rabi'een Kindergarten, with a total of 95 children. The study samble  (15 children) was randomly selected.  . After the exercises were completed, the post-tests have been carried out  on the sample  with similar circumstances as that of  pre-tests.  Researchers used statistical methods in the SPSS program. After the results were presented, analyzed, and discussed, The resear

Effect of Nd-YAG, XeCl, and Nitrogen Laser Radiation on Human Aorta , and Some Arterial Tissues
...Show More Authors

The effect of laser radiation on human aorta, coronary, and pulmonary arteries, and pulmonary veins has been investigated. Xenon-Chloride (eximer), Nitrogen, and Nd-YAG pulsed lasers of wavelengths 308, 337, and 1060 nm respectively were used. Their effects on fresh postmortem tissues, normal and diseased, was studied. The diameter and depth of ablation of the exposed tissues, in air, were measured as a function of many factors related to the type of laser and nature of the tissue. The effect of properties of the applied lasers, such as average power density and deposited energy density, on the exposed tissue surface were studied. The increase of these two parameters cause an increase in the depth and diameter of ablation. However the di

Varied-method training and its effect on developing some functional physical abilities of youth basketball players
...Show More Authors

Objective: Preparing training in a diverse style for young basketball players, and identifying the effect of training in a diverse style on some physical abilities (for young basketball players).Research methodology: the researchers chose the experimental method to know the research problem and its objectives, as it is represented by designing two equal groups, the control and the experimental, with pre- and post-tests. The study community was determined by youth basketball players for the 2023-2024 season, as the research community is (104) players, and a sample of (20) players was drawn from the youth category from Al-A'dhamiyah Sports Club, and it was chosen intentionally because they are the clubs most committed to training, as

Age and BMI may be used to diagnosis of thyroid autoimmune disease. One hundred Iraqi women with age ranged from 18 to 60 years participate in this research, 50 of them were hypothyroidism patients, 30 were hyperthyroidism patients and the other 20 were euthyroidism served as controls. Blood samples were collected from the studied subjects to determine thyroid profile [free triiodothyronine (FT3), free tetraiodothyronine (FT4) and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)], thyroid antibodies [anti-thyroid peroxidase (anti-TPO), anti-thyroglobulin (anti-Tg), and anti-thyroid stimulating hormone receptor (anti-TSHR)], and levels of vitamin D (vit D), calcium (Ca), and phosphorus (P) using different analysis techniques. Effect of Maternal Variables on some Physiological and Immunological Biomarkers in Iraqi Women Undergoing Caesarean Section
...Show More Authors

Pregnancy and childbirth are physiological states characterized by sudden hormonal and immunologically described changes. The current study aimed to investigate the influence of maternal variables (age, previous abortion, placental position, and fetal position) on some physiological biomarkers, such as oxytocin (OT), prolactin (PRL), cortisol, and insulin growth factor 2 (IGF -2) and some immune biomarkers such as programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) and interleukin 6 (IL-6) in Iraqi women undergoing caesarean section (CS). Blood samples were collected from 48 pregnant women in the age range (16-43 years) and serum was obtained to determine the levels of the above biomarkers. The effect of
