Photogrammetric analysis of facial soft tissue profile of Iraqi adults sample with Class II div.1 and Class III malocclusion: (A comparative study)
...Show More Authors

Background: The purposes of this study were to determine the photogrammetric soft tissue facial profile measurements for Iraqi adults sample with class II div.1 and class III malocclusion using standardized photographic techniques and to verify the existence of possible gender differences. Materials & methods: Seventy five Iraqi adult subjects, 50 class II div.1 malocclusion (24 males and 26 females), 25 class III malocclusion (14 males and 11 females), with an age range from 18-25 years. Each individual was subjected to clinical examination and digital standardized right side photographic records were taken in the natural head position. The photographs were analyzed using AutoCAD program 2007 to measure the distances and angles used in the Soft Tissue Photogrammetric Analysis. Descriptive statistics was obtained for (29) measured variables for both genders and independent- samples t-test was performed to evaluate the genders difference. Results &conclusions: The results indicated that: males had greater facial heights and lengths as well as greater prominences of facial dimensions in class II div.1 and class III malocclusion. The mean values of all angular variables were higher in females than males in the class II div.1 exceptin the following angular measurements: vertical nasal angle, angle of the nasal dorsum, cervicomental angle andangle of the lower facial third, with larger male dimensions in all linear measurements of the nasal, lips, chin area and facial analysis except upper facial third.Independent t-testshowed statistically significant gender differences in the vertical nasal angle, nasal angle, nasofrontal angle; angle of the nasal dorsum; nasolabial angle, cervicomental angle, lower facial third, facial depth subnasal depth, nasal prominence, length of upper lip, length of lower lip of pogonion and height of chin, while in the class III malocclusionThe mean values of all angular variables were higher in males than females except in the following: nasofrontal angle, nasal angle, nasolabial angle, mentolabial angleandangle of the middle facial third with larger male dimensions in all linear measurements of the facial, lips, chin area and nose analysisexcept the height of nasal tip, nasofrontal angle, nasal angle, nasolabial angle, angle of total convexity, lower facial third, upper lip, upper lip, prominence of lower lip, prominence of chin and height of chin. Independent t-test showed statistically significant gender differences.

Phytochemical Study of Steroidal Sapogenin “Tigogenin” Present in the Leaves of Agave americana Cultivated in Iraq
...Show More Authors

The presence of the most important steroidal sapogenin “Tigogenin” in the leaves of Agave americana  cultivated in Iraq was detected. The absence of any study concerning the Tigogenin content of this medicinal plant in Iraq, and the industrial importance of Tigogenin depending on its role as a precursor in the synthesis of some steroidal drugs, acquired this study its value. This search include extraction,  isolation,  purification and dentification of Tigogenin from the leaves of Agave americana. Extraction of this compound was carried out using two methods. Identification of this compound is carried out by using thin layer chromatography (TLC) where three different mobile phase have been use

...Show More Authors

The current research is summarized by studying and understanding the imagination and what resulted from it in postmodern arts, specifically Pop Art. The research was focused spatially (America) between the year 1950-1975 AD and it defined the research problem by asking about what factors and variables that established the social imagination in culture Al-Gharbia, which in turn crystallized the Western cultural product to appear in its form, which is historically called "pop art". Two studies were adopted in the second chapter. The first one was the cultural structure of the social imagination. The second topic was concerned with the stylistic diversity of pop art, and the third chapter included research and accreditation procedures. Ther

THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEWS TICKERS IN THE ARABIC CHANNELS: ) Al Arabiya TV - study of the case - 2007(
...Show More Authors

While providing important news information, News tickers ( also called sliders or crawlers ) have become one of the methods used daily by satellite channels, because it’s almost a continuous news coverage and as it seems, it has become today an addition to the news world. Hence, satellite channels need to look for a mechanism to build news tickers in order to develop them even though they are still today not recognisable and in need of being classified in a radio or television art, and that is not easy. This research sheds light on the construction of the slider of a news satellite channel, which is important according to our modest convictions, as it can be the beginning of a long scientific research in a new field of study. The probl

Study The effect of central ion to the dithene complexes on spectral shifting of saturable absorber band
...Show More Authors

In this work dithine complexes prepared from dithiol benzil ligand and central ion to the Ni,Pd,Pt, element the ligand and complexes have been investigated using FTIR spectrophotometer and uv-vis-NIR spectral reigns show higher intensity represents the ?-?* transition in the chromopher cycle .These absorption which appear in visible and near IR spectral regions ,According to the complexes of one group ,the spectral shifting due to the change of central ion has been found to be related to atomic number of central ion .This shifting is increased while decreasing the central ion atom number These complexes have been implemented in Nd+2:YAG cavity because each posses resonant absorption band near Nd+2:YAG, Nd+2:Glass emitting at (106

Detection of early occlusal caries of the first permanent molar using different techniques (An in vivo study)
...Show More Authors

Background: Molars and premolars are considered as the most vulnerable teeth of caries attack, which is related to the morphology of their occlusal surfaces along with the difficulty of plaque removal. different methods were used for early caries detection that provide sensitive, accurate preoperative diagnosis of caries depths to establish adequate preventive measures and avoid premature tooth treatment by restoration. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the clinical sensitivity and specificity rates of DIAGNOdent and visual inspection as opposed to the ICDAS for the detection of initial occlusal caries in noncavitated first permanent molars. Materials and Methods: This study examined 139 occlusal surface of the first permanent

The study aimed to identify the degree of academic leaders practices at the University of Northern Border for creative leadership, which attribute to different variables (nature of work, employer, gender, years of experience in administrative work at the university). To achieve the goal of the study, the researcher used the descriptive approach survey. Therefore, the researcher used a questionnaire as a study tool, which consisted of (40) items that included dimensions (sensitivity to problems, initiative, originality, flexibility). The study sample consisted of (240) participants included (agents of colleges, and supporting deanships, and their employees) during the second semester of the academic year 1439/1440 AH. Assessment of mandibular radiomorphometric indices as predictors of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women (Cephalometric reconstructed computed tomographical study)
...Show More Authors

Background: Osteoporosis affects almost all of the bones in the female body; the most important one in the facial bone is mandible. Menopause is defined as an absence of the menses for one year. During this time, estrongen, progesterone and ovarian androgens production are diminished due to adult onset ovarian failure which leads to osteoporosis. This study aimed to evaluate the use of computed tomography mandibular morphometric indices for the assessment of pre and postmenopausal osteoporotic women. Subjects and material: This study conducted on 50 Iraqi females divided into 2 groups 20 -30years old as a control group and over50 years old as a study group attending Al-Karkh hospital, Department of Computed Tomography.(each group25 female).
