Background: Asthma is a pulmonary disorder characterized by reversible stenosis of the peripheral bronchi. This disease could affect the oral health; as a result asthmatic patients may have a higher risk of developing dental diseases. This study was conducted to evaluate the caries experience and salivary elements among asthmatic patients using Ventoline inhaler. Materials and methods: The study group consisted of 30 male asthmatic patients with an age range 20-24years (under Ventoline inhaler). The control group includes 30 subjects matching with study group in age and gender. Plaque and DMFS index were used for recording caries experience. Stimulated salivary samples were collected and then salivary flow rate, S-IgA and salivary elements concentrations (Ca, Na, K and PO4) were determined. Results: The mean value of dental caries (DMFS) and plaque index (Pl I) were found to be higher among study group compared to control group with statistically significant difference for Pl I (P<0.05), while not significant difference was observed for DMFS (P>0.05). The mean value of salivary flow rate, Ca, PO4 , Na and K ions concentrations were found to be lower among study group compared to the control group with no statistically significant difference (P>0.05), except for Ca and K ions the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). S-IgA in the study group was higher than the control group and the difference was not significant (P>0.05). Conclusions: Individuals with asthma have a higher caries prevalence, worse oral cleanliness and lower salivary elements compared to the control group, so a special preventive programs need to be designed for those patients.
The great raise and development of residential buildings in modern cities worldwide as a result of urban extends leads to environmental and social problems, that make the designers looking for more complicated and innovative solutions. To encounter these, most advanced technologies in construction had been used resulting buildings had become higher, which was moved away from the land called residential housing. Harold Pinter often portrays the dilemma of obliterated figures that are incapable of feeling of their own existences. These figures feel exhausted and frustrated in a world that deprives them their humanity. They retreat into a limited world where they look for security and protection. The characters' feeling of security is threatened by outside forces represented by intruding persons who stand for the mysterious powers that are indefinable. The conflict between these intruders and the characters finally ends with the characters’ defeat. The reason for the intruders' attack on the victims remains ambiguous and is not explained. The element of mystery pervades Pinter's plays and represents one of

The pleiotropic effects of the receptor activator of nuclear factor-kappa B ligand (RANKL) such as modulation of cell survival, mineralization and inflammation, make it an interesting candidate mediator in the progression and destabilization of atherosclerotic lesions. Objectives: This study was performed to investigate the role of RANKL in the pathogenesis of ACS.Methods: The levels of RANKL were measured by ELISA method in sera of 60 ACS patients, 31 patients with unstable angina (UA) and 29 patients with myocardial infarction (MI) in comparison with 20 apparently healthy controls. Results: Current data indicate

The aim of research project is to study the ability of unit to remove the priority pollutant aromatic compound and follow up these compounds in river to study ability of river to self removal. A solid phase extraction (SPE) followed by high performance liquid chromatography-ultra violet (HPLC-UV) technique is depicted for the quantitative estimation of benzidines and phenols. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) uses magnetization and radio waves, rather than x-rays to make very detailed, cross- sectional pictures of the brain. In this work we are going to explain some procedures belongs contrast and brightness improvement which is very important in the improvement the image quality such as the manipulation with the image histogram. Its has been explained in this worked the histogram shrink i.e. reducing the size of the gray level gives a dim low contrast picture is produced, where, the histogram stretching of the gray level was distributed on a wide scale but there is no increase in the number of pixels in the bright region. The histogram equalization has also been discuss together with its effects of the improveme
