Immunohistochemical study of PDGF, IGF of radiated tooth rat embryo
...Show More Authors

Background: Exposure to microwaves radiation from microwave oven may be harmful for users especially for the one who have highest contact with microwave oven. Because the body is electrochemical in nature, any force that disrupts or changes human electrochemical events will affect the physiology of the body by destabilization and interruption of many chemical body substance including growth factors. The insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) are a family of mitogenic proteins that control growth, differentiation, and the maintenance of differentiated function in numerous tissues. It fulfils an important role in growth and development of teeth, mandible, maxillae, and tongue. Platelet derived growth factors (PDGF) are proteins that regulate cell growth and division. In particular, it plays a significant role in blood vessel formation (angiogenesis). It seems that IGF and PDGF share in much tissue developmental process. Therefore they included in the present study in correlation to tooth growth & development. This study Illustrates the expression of insulin like growth factor and platelet derived growth factor by dental cells of rat embryos at periods of gestation 16th,18thday intrauterine life(I.U.L) and one day neonatal life. Materials and Methods: Animal model: Thirty-six female rats were used in this study .Starting from zero days (time of gestation that recorded) the pregnant rats were divided into three groups. Group A serve as a control, groups B exposed to microwave oven radiation For (15 /minutes; 5/min /hour for 3 hours continuously) daily and C exposed to EMF radiation for (45 minutes ;15 min /hour for3hours continuously)daily starting from zero day of gestation till the last day. The embryo of rats at 16thday and 18th day of intrauterine life and one day old rat (new born rat) were studied immunohistochemically for localized of platelet derived growth factor (PDGF) and insulin growth factor (IGF) markers. Results:The results showed that experimental group (B) exposed to short duration of radiation (5/ min.) stimulates the development of tooth germ and faster tooth growing in comparison to control with immunohistochemical results show strong to moderate intense stain for positive expression of growth factors(PDGF,IGF) by dental tissue. For long exposure period of radiation( group C) , it showed retardation in the tooth growth withimmunohistochemical findings record weak to negative intense stain for the expression of growth factors(PDGF,IGF) by dental tissue. Conclusion: Exposure to microwave (oven) radiation during pregnancy may play a role in the expression of IGF and PDGF by cells of tooth germ thatinfluence on cell differentiation and physiological activity of specialized dental cells, depending on exposure time.

Using Remote Sensing and GIS to Study Morphological Analysis of Kirkuk Province
...Show More Authors

Remote sensing is a source of up-to-date information. The present study relied on various approaches for gathering information, including descriptive, quantitative and quantitative analytical processes. Particularly,  we conducted the analysis of the satellite data ETM + of the satellite Landsat7 and the digital models of Digital Elevation Model of SRTM using ArcGIS9.2. The model depends on primary mathematical equations and  constitutes an essential base for GIS applications that rely on data, computer, and software, performing the processes of data entry, analysis and processing. This paper deals with the geomorphological characteristics of a selected study area in Kirkuk province. The cha

Exploring the Impact of Petrophysical Uncertainties on Recoverable Reserves: A Case Study
...Show More Authors

Reliable estimation of critical parameters such as hydrocarbon pore volume, water saturation, and recovery factor are essential for accurate reserve assessment. The inherent uncertainties associated with these parameters encompass a reasonable range of estimated recoverable volumes for single accumulations or projects. Incorporating this uncertainty range allows for a comprehensive understanding of potential outcomes and associated risks. In this study, we focus on the oil field located in the northern part of Iraq and employ a Monte Carlo based petrophysical uncertainty modeling approach. This method systematically considers various sources of error and utilizes effective interpretation techniques. Leveraging the current state of a

The research was aimed tostudy themorphological and anatomical characteristics as well as habitatand geographical distributionof speciesPeltariaangustifolia DC., This study indicated that the plant specimens are perennial glabrous herbs, distinguished by the presence of distinct basal and cauline leaves, and simple corymb inflorescence. Flowers perianth consists of four obovate sepals, and four spathulate petals, with hexanderiaandroecium characterized by dilated filaments from the bases and gynoecium consists of obovate ovary and sessile stigma, the fruit reticulate silicula, and the seeds are ovate-elliptical with faintly reticulate configuration. As for the anatomical study, it included the study of the dimensions an

TEST AND STUDY THE WORK EFFICIENCY OF LOCALLY MANUFACTURED PALM SERVICE EQUIPMENT
...Show More Authors

A hydraulic platform was manufactured to serve palm trees and to enhance palm tree services, with a height of 12 meters, by the General Company for Hydraulic Industries, one of the Ministry of Industry's formations. This platform was tested in the field after being manufactured according to a randomized complete block design using split-split plots with three factors. The first factor represented the shape of the orchard land, with two levels (flat land and uneven land), serving as the main plots. The second factor had three levels representing palm tree heights (4, 8, and 12 meters), which served as the sub-plots. The third factor was the palm tree services, represented at three levels (pruning, pollination, and harvesting), with each trea

Parametric Study of Mixed Convective Radiative Heat Transfer in an Inclined Annulus
...Show More Authors

The steady state laminar mixed convection and radiation through inclined rectangular duct with an interior circular tube is investigated numerically for a thermally and hydrodynamicaly fully developed flow. The two heat transfer mechanisms of convection and radiation are treated independently and simultaneously. The governing equations which used are continuity, momentum and energy equations. These equations are normalized and solved using the Vorticity-Stream function and the Body Fitted Coordinates (B.F.C) methods. The finite difference approach with the Line Successive Over-Relaxation (LSOR) method is used to obtain all the computational results. The (B.F.C) method is used to generate the grid of the problem. A computer program (Fortr
