Background: Parotid gland tumors account for 80% of all salivary gland neoplasms, 20% of these are malignant, but in daily clinical practice most parotid masses are operated on before obtaining the final histological diagnosis. This clinical setting further complicates the critical point of parotid surgery, which is the management of the facial nerve. Materials and methods: 45 patients underwent parotidectomy for benign and malignant neoplasms. A complete history is collected from the patients with the duration and the site of the tumor, the facial nerve examined and its associations, a medical consultation done for opinion and management. Clinical examination with facial nerve was mandatory to avoid any mistakes that may occur. The most significant single parameter in this series of malignancies regarding disease specific survival was the clinical involvement of the facial nerve. Also for this reason, as there is no evidence that the facial nerve sacrifice improves prognosis, when it is not clinically involved, every attempt is made to dissect and preserve it. A treatment plan was contemplated regarding nerve preservation for malignancy or with nerve sacrifice. Result: This study showed that females (62%) are more affected than males (38%),tumors occur at left parotid gland (65%) more than right parotid gland (35%), a malignancy affected the left parotid gland more than the right one and a malignancy affected females more than males. Pleomorphic adenomas are the most frequent benign tumors while the adenocarcinoma most frequent malignant tumors. Conclusion: The most complicated situation concerning nerve preservation may be the recurrence of a benign tumor, in particular pleomorphic adenoma, which, in our series, has a higher incidence (62.5%) of permanent facial dysfunction, than surgery with nerve preservation for malignancy (37.5%) and to resects the nerve when is clinically involved and when is totally embedded in a clearly malignant neoplasm with attempt to preserve it in all other.
Abstract
Through this study, I tried to identify the grammatical efforts of one of the most important authors of the footnotes that were built on the luminous benefits marked with (Explanation of Mulla Jami in Grammar), and he is Sheikh Isamah Allah Al-Bukhari, who died in the eleventh century AH, trying as much as possible to stay away from the path of tradition in repeating the efforts of Those who preceded me in explaining the grammatical efforts of many grammarians, and perhaps what helped me in this is the characteristics that characterize the notes owners that may distinguish them from other owners of grammatical authorship, as a result of what characterized the personality of the notes owners from the predominance of the in

The water samples were taken from outline areas (the wastewater of the chrome and vegetable tannery) in equal volumes and subjected to sedimentation, biological treatment, and chemical and natural sedimentation treatment.
The Box-Wilson method of experimental design was adopted to find useful relationships between three operating variables that affect the treatment processes (temperature, aeration period and phosphate concentration) on the Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5).
The experimental data collected by this method were successfully fitted to a second order polynomial mathematical model. The most fa
Background: Kidney failure is the leading cause of early death for diabetic patients and is regarded as the most dangerous consequence of the disease. This can only be reversed through early detection and intervention. The incidence of type 1 diabetes, which comprises 5-10 per cent of all diabetic diseases, is rising across the globe with a rate of 15 per 100,000 people per year. Methods: 90 samples were collected and used in this study. Thirty healthy children served as controls (aged 5-15 years), 30 patients with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM, aged 5-15 years) and 30 patients with type 1 diabetic nephropathy (DN), aged 5-20 years). Results: highly significant increase in Urea and Creatinine levels when compared control with DN al
... Show MoreThin films of the blended solution of (NiPc/C60) on glass substrates were prepared by spin-coated method for three different ratios (100/1, 100/10 and 100/100). The effects of annealing temperature and C60 concentration on the optical properties of the samples were studied using the UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy and FTIR spectra. The optical absorption spectrum consists of two main bands, Q and B band, with maxima at about (602-632) nm and (700-730) nm for Q1 and Q2 respectively, and (340-375) nm for B band. The optical energy gap were determined from optical absorption spectra, The variation of optical energy gap with annealing temperature was nonsystematic and this may be due to the improvement in crystal structure for thin films. Background: Simultaneous and staged guided bone regeneration (GBR) is one of the several surgical techniques that have been developed in the past two decades to regenerate bone and thus to allow implant placement in compromised sites (fenestration and dehiscence). It is a surgical procedure that consists of the placement of a cell-occlusive physical barrier between the connective tissue and the alveolar bone defect. The treatment concept advocates that regeneration of osseous defects is predictably attainable via the application of occlusive membranes, which mechanically exclude non-osteogenic cell populations from the surrounding soft tissues, thereby allowing osteogenic cell populations originating from the parent bone to inhabi
