The Electrophoretic Deposition of Nano Al2O3 and AgNO3 on CpTi Dental Implant (An in vitro and in vivo study)
...Show More Authors

Background: Even the wide use of dental implants, still there is a proportion of implants are failed due to infection. Much considerable attention has been paid to modify the implant surface. Coating of dental implant with a biocomposite material of suitable properties can improve osseointegration. And this is the main concern of this study. The aim of present study was to evaluate the use of a biocomposite coating of dental implant with (ceramic nano Al2O3 and metalic AgNo3) on the bond strength at bone – implant interface and tissue reaction. Materials and methods: A total number of forty-eight screws, CpTi dental implant used in this study. Half of these screws were coated with a biocomposite material of nano (Al2O3and AgNo3), this was done by using electrophoretic deposition method (EFD). In invitro part of the study, analysis of the coated surface was done using: X ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscope (AFM), Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), Optical microscopy and Scanning electron microscope (SEM). In invivo part of study, 10 white male New Zealand rabbits were used, and a screw type of dental implant [uncoated and coated with nano (Al2O3and AgNo3)] were implanted in each tibia of rabbit. Then biomechanical and Histological test were performed after 2 and 4 weeks healing intervals. Results: The results of biomechanical test showed a higher torque mean values of (M+SD):(14.91N.cm+2.7)and (22.5 N.cm +5.31) after 2 and 4 weeks respectively. In histological examination of coated screws at 2 weeks, there isa bone trabeculae occupies a base of implant bed with osteoblast andosteocyte. At 4 weeks, there is a progress in the healing process around dental implant, and this includes: -new bone with haversian canals, osteoblast and osteocyte. Conclusion: Biocomposite coating of dental implant with Alumina and silver nitrate can be made by electrophoretic deposition method (EPD), and a multifunctional surface has been created. Keywords: Electrophoretic Deposition, alumina, screw Dental Implants, torque.

Background: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate and compare the effect of preheating microleakage among three different filler size composites which include Filtektm Z250 micro hybrid, Z250xt Nano hybrid and nanocomposite Z350xt.  in Class II cavity preparation .

Materials and methods: sixty maxillary first premolars were prepared with class II cavities. Samples were divided into three groups according to material used    group A (FiltekZ250 micro hybrid). Group B(Z250xt Nano hybrid). Group C (nanocomposite Z350xt)and each group divided into two subgroups of ten teeth according to temperature of  composite:

Effect of Inhalation Exposure to Nano-Imidacloprid on Liver and Kidney Functions In Male Rats
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>Pesticide poisoning is a serious global public health issue and is responsible for a sizable number of annual fatalities. This study was designed to examine the potentially harmful effects of adult rats being exposed to imidacloprid (IMD) as a nanoparticle by determining the chronic effect of inhalation of (5,10 and 20) mg/kg/b.w. of nano-imidacloprid for a duration of 60 days. The most important biochemical parameters of the serum liver function parameters were aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and alkaline phosphatase ALP, kidney function [blood urea, creatinine, and urea], and oxidative stress parameters (MDA, GSH, and CAT) in all treated groups when</p> ... Dental arches dimensions, forms and its association to facial types in a sample of Iraqi adults with skeletal and dental class II-division 1 and class III malocclusion(A cross sectional study)
...Show More Authors

Background: The association between facial types and dental arches forms has considerable implications in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. The aim was to establish the maxillary and mandibular dental arches width and length in skeletal and dental class II division 1 and class III malocclusion groups, find out the most frequent dental arch form and facial type and the association between them and to check the gender differences. Materials and Methods: Frontal and lateral facial photographs and maxillary and mandibular occlussal photographs for 90 iraqi subjects with age 18-25 years old (45 males and 45 females) divided equally into three groups, the 1st group with class II division 1malocclusion (overjet more than 3mm but less t

Quantitative assessment of Mutans Streptococci adhesion to coated and uncoated orthodontic archwires(In vitro study)
...Show More Authors

Background: The development of orthodontic biomaterials that attract less biofilm has been a goal for decades. Adhesion and colonization of cariogenic streptococci are considered to play key roles in the development of enamel demineralization related to orthodontic materials. The aim of this study was to quantitatively evaluate the Mutans streptococci adhesion to coated orthodontic archwires (Epoxy and Teflon) and uncoated archwires (stainless steel and nickel-titanium) with respect to incubation time in the presence and absence of saliva. Material and Method: Six types of archwires stainless steel and nickel titanium with two type of coating (Epoxy, Teflon) were used in this study. Twelve specimens of each archwire were incubated in steri

Most of us are tired of the circumstances that surround us because of their deficiency, deprivation, and sullenness, even though troubles and pains are the soil in which the seeds of strong personality  sprout.

The content of the research is summed up in the fact that there is no need to frown, so let our face be free, and our word good and tolerant, so that we can be the most loving people of those who give them, and the Messenger of God (may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family) was known to be the heaviest  concerns  of people, but he was most smiling of people, by smiling, we buy lives, so we should get used to it, because that gives us hope and finds the world in our hands, an

An in vitro assessment of the residual dentin after using three minimally invasive caries removal techniques
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>To evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of three minimally invasive (MI) techniques in removing deep dentin carious lesions. Forty extracted carious molars were treated by conventional rotary excavation (control), chemomechanical caries removal agent (Brix 3000), ultrasonic abrasion (WOODPECKER, GUILIN, China); and Er, Cr: YSGG laser ablation (BIOLASE San Clemente, CA, USA). The assessments include; the excavation time, DIAGNOdent pen, Raman spectroscopy, Vickers microhardness, and scanning electron microscope combined with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM–EDX). The rotary method recorded the shortest excavation time (p < 0.001), Brix 3000 gel was the slowest. DIAGNOdent pen va</p> ... Show More
