Comparative Analysis of Two Robust Strategies for an Angular Velocity Control System
...Show More Authors

In this paper, a novel flow control strategy which is the inlet throttled pump was used to design an angular velocity control system for rotary actuator. Inlet throttled systems have good performance in addition to their high efficiency compared to traditional valve controlled systems. The flow in the proposed system is adjusted by a valve that is positioned at the pump inlet with the purpose of reducing the energy loses across the valve. This regulated flow is used then to control the actuator angular velocity. The system was modeled and the open loop stability and performance were studied. In order to improve the system performance, Robust-Proportional-Integral-Derivative (RPID) and structured singular value (M@#@) controllers have been designed. The multiplicative uncertainty was analyzed to assess the robustness of the feedback control system where six parameters were considered uncertain within a range of +10%. The robust stability and performance requirements of the closed-loop angular velocity control system were assessed in the frequency domain. The time response of the system showed that the system is stable with both (RPID) and (Mu) controllers. The Mu controller can handle parametric uncertainty without requiring pure integral term which is a significant advantage over the (RPID) controller. On the other hand, the (RPID) controller could achieve robust performance, making it much suitable for systems that require high levels of performance and robustness. In summary, the the (RPID) and Mu controller is a more comprehensive solution for ensuring the best performance of a system. The results for each (RPID) and Mu-controllers showed no oscillations, zero percent overshoot. Each of the (RPID) and Mu-controllers meets the robustness needs. © 2017 University of Technology. Iraq. Index Terms— Pump, valve, inlet throttling valve, angular velocity control, robust control, Mu synthesis, D-K iteration, RPID controller .

Optimal hybrid type-3 fuzzy controller for horizontal axis wind turbines: Comparative study
...Show More Authors

The blade pitch angle (BPA) controller is key factor to improve the power generation of wind turbine (WT). Due to the aerodynamic structural behavior of the rotor blades, wind turbine system performance is influenced by pitch angle and environmental conditions such as wind speed, which fluctuate throughout the day. Therefore, to overcome the pitch angle control (PAC) problem, high wind speed conditions, and due to type-1 and type-2 fuzzy logic limitations for handling high levels of uncertainty, the newly proposed optimal hybrid type-3 fuzzy logic controller has been applied and compared since type-3 fuzzy controllers utilize three-dimensional membership functions, unlike type-2 and type-1 fuzzy logic controllers. In this paper six differen

Background: The efficacy of educational strategies is crucial for nursing students to competently perform pediatric procedures like nasogastric tube insertion. Specific Background: This study evaluates the effectiveness of simulation, blended, and self-directed learning strategies in enhancing these skills among nursing students. Knowledge Gap: Previous research lacks a comprehensive comparison of these strategies' impacts on skill development in pediatric nursing contexts. Aims: The study aims to assess the effectiveness of different educational strategies on nursing students' ability to perform pediatric nasogastric tube insertions. Methods: A pre-experimental design was employed at the College of Nursing, University of Baghdad, i

Viable Strategies to Increase Clinical Trial Patient Diversity
...Show More Authors

In the United States, the pharmaceutical industry is actively devising strategies to improve the diversity of clinical trial participants. These efforts stem from a plethora of evidence indicating that various ethnic groups respond differently to a given treatment. Thus, increasing the diversity of trial participants would not only provide more robust and representative trial data but also lead to safer and more effective therapies. Further diversifying trial participants appear straightforward, but it is a complex process requiring feedback from multiple stakeholders such as pharmaceutical sponsors, regulators, community leaders, and research sites. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to describe three viable strategies that can p

Samples (4th) reviewed are deposited and stored in the Iraqi Natural History Museum (INHM), and there are 4th of them. Sciurus anomalous (Güldenstädt, 1785) species are preserved and mummified. It is a Caucasian squirrel (S. anomalus) that was medium in size, with a grayish-to-chestnut color, a golden gray back, and a golden tail. It is found in the forests of East and Southeast Asia. The variety possessed for the study was previously registered in the vertebrate literature by several authors and was stored by scientific methods in the museum. As a result of the multiplication and growth of these species, and to know the environmental changes that occurred in them, they were compared with models and samples found throughout Iraq

Novel Technique for Alveolar Ridge Expansion: A Comparative Clinical Study
...Show More Authors

Background: Piezosurgery improved the split approach by making it safer, easier, and less prone to complications when treating extremely atrophic crests. Densah drills, with their unique design, expand the ridge by densifying bone in a reverse, non-cutting mode. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of sagittal piezosurgery, which involves cutting bone to the full implant depth and then expanding it using osseodensification drills. We use this technique to expand narrow alveolar bones and simultaneously place dental implants in the maxillary and mandibular arches. Methods: Fourteen patients received 31 dental implants. The maxillary arch received 19, and the mandible received 12 dental implants. This study will include patients who

Compensation for Psychological Damage Caused by Negligence - A Comparative Study
...Show More Authors

Psychological damage is one of the damages that can be compensated under the fault of negligence in the framework of English law, where the latter intends to include an enumeration of civil errors on the basis of which liability can be determined, and aims under each of these errors to protect a specific interest (for example, defamation protects Among the damage to reputation and inconvenience are the rights contained on the land), and the same is true for the rest of the other errors. Compensation for psychological damage resulting from negligence has raised problems in cases where the psychological injury is "pure", that is, those that are not accompanied by a physical injury, which required subjecting them to special requirements by the
