This study aims to determine the petrophysical characteristics of the three wells in the Kifl Oilfield, central Iraq. The well logs were used to characterize hydrocarbon reservoirs to assess the hydrocarbon prospectivity, designate hydrocarbon and water-bearing zones, and determine the Nahr Umr Formation's petrophysical parameters. The Nahr Umr reservoir mainly consists of sandstone at the bottom and has an upper shale zone containing a small proportion of oil. The geophysical logs data from three oil wells include gamma-ray, resistivity, neutron, density, acoustic, and spontaneous potential logs. Loss of drilling fluid in the Nasiriyah oil field can be considered as a big,
serious, and expensive problem at the same time, therefore accurate and integrated
program must be prepared before start drilling in layers that are likely to get loss
circulation. From the available data of well Ns-13, the area of loss was detected in
five layers, which are Dammam, Um- radoma, Tayarat, Shiranish and Hartha since
these layers contain natural cracks and high porosity represented by vugs.

Field studies of the slopes of Bammo anticline, in Northeast of Iraq, was carried out in five selects stations, where rock slopes and the discontinuities were surveyed in these stations and its relationships with failures were determined.
