Clinical assessment of external fixation in pelvic ring fractures
...Show More Authors

Background: Unstable pelvic ring fractures (PRF) are high energy trauma, commonly associated with systemic and soft tissues elements injures, the external fixation as an emergency and final treatment is one of the options in its management.

Objective: to evaluate the value and role of external fixation for unstable (PRF) and its clinical outcomes.

Patients and methods: twenty one patients with unstable P.R.F have been treated by external fixation , they were 16 men and 5 women ,their  average age was 28 years (range ;18-60 years) , two thirds of the cases were due to road traffic accident , 85% were hemodynamicaly unstable , urological and neurological, anorectal injuries were the commonest associated injuries ,follow up period was 1.6 year range ( 1.00-6 years). Tile classification and Majeed outcome scale had been used.

Results: Excellent or good results obtained in 83% of Tile type B injuries , and 44% in type( C) P.R.F. Complications were noted in 42% in the form of skin problems , pin loosening, nerve injurey.

Conclusion; External fixation may be useful or even life saving in the acute resuscitation phase of the management of unstable pelvic fracture.

The concept of deficit in public budget becomes a chronic economic phenomenon in most of the world, whether the advanced countries or developing countries. Despite  the difference in the visions of the economic schools to accept or reject the deficit in public budget but the opinion that prevailed is the necessity of the state to reduce the public spending which led to a continuous deficits in the public budget which consequently increased the government borrowing ,increase income taxes and wealth, consequently this weakened the in motivation in private investment which contributed to the increase of in factionary stagnation , so that governments have to cover the lack of local funding sources which become difficult to be eq

Thrombocytosis and CA125 as Predictor of Malignancy in Gynaecological Pelvic Mass
...Show More Authors

Background: Pelvic masses are common in women & can present at any age of woman life, it could be benign or malignant mass and may originate from gynecological organs like cervix, uterus, uterine adnexia, or from other pelvic organs like intestine, bladder, ureters, skeletal muscle, and bone.
Objective: We attempted to determine the increasing of platelet counts(> 450.000 /micro liter) and CA125serum level (> 35 U/mL) as useful tools for predicting and confirming malignancy in gynecological pelvic mass.
Patients and methods: A prospective unmatched hospital based case-control study carried out at Baghdad Teaching Hospital, about 126 women were enrolled in our study, divided into two groups 60 women were control group (fre

Stress Analysis of the Hip Bone
...Show More Authors

The bony pelvis has a major role in weight transmission to the lower limbs. The complexities of its geometric form, material properties, and loading conditions render it an open subject to biomechanical analysis.

The present study deals with area measurement, and three-dimensional finite element analysis of the hip bone to investigate magnitudes, load direction, and stress distribution under physiological loading conditions.

The surface areas of the auricular surface, lunate surface, and symphysis pubis were measured in (35) adult hip bones. A solid model was translated into ANSYS parametric design language to be analyzed by finite element analysis method under different loading conditions.

The surface

Background: Fracture dislocation at the junction between thoracic and lumber segments of spinal column by direct or indirect high energy force which is usually managed with more than three vertebral level fixation. Short segment stabilization have a wide range of benefits including length of time utilized for surgical intervention, reduce functional and psychological disability postoperatively and local surgical site complications.
Objective: Evaluate the efficacy of posterior short segment pedicle stabilization in T-L fracture clinically and radiologically. Also to compare outcome of pedicle fixation by long segment and short segment an finally we try to insert at least one screw in the fracture vertebra to strengthen the stabilizati

Semi-Analytical Assessment of Magneto-Hydrodynamic Nano-Fluid Flow Jeffrey- Hamel Problem
...Show More Authors

In this paper, analyzing the non-dimensional Magnesium-hydrodynamics problem Using nanoparticles in Jeffrey-Hamel flow (JHF) has been studied. The fundamental equations for this issue are reduced to a three-order ordinary differential equation. The current project investigated the effect of the angles between the plates, Reynolds number, nanoparticles volume fraction parameter, and magnetic number on the velocity distribution by using analytical technique known as a perturbation iteration scheme (PIS). The effect of these parameters is similar in the converging and diverging channels except magnetic number that it is different in the divergent channel. Furthermore, the resulting solutions with good convergence and high accuracy for the d
