Background: Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is the preferred and convenient treatment modality for acute renal failure (ARF) in children and hemodynamically unstable patients, because of its inherent advantages: technique can be initiated simply and quickly, no highly trained personnel nor expensive and complex apparatus are required and systemic anticoagulation is not needed.
Objectives: is to highlight the role of peritoneal dialysis in management of children with acute renal failure and to determined its complications.
Patients and methods: A retrospective study was carried out from 20th April 2012 till1st May 2014 ,on children with acute renal failure admitted to nephrology unit in Child Welfare Teaching Hospital and peritoneal dialysis was done for them in the acute intermittent peritoneal dialysis ward which was established since 2012 . Age ranged from one day up to fifteen years .Indications, complications of the procedure and outcome of recovery were recorded.
Results: Fifty nine children with acute renal failure were enrolled in the present study 23(39%) female and 36(61%) male, their age ranged from (8 days-15 years ). congenital malformations of renal system 13 (22%), hemolytic uremic syndrome 10(16.9%), sepsis 7(11.9%) were the predominant causes of acute renal failure. Complications of dialysis were significantly low among studied patients 18.6%(p<0.001).The main dialysis related complication was catheter malfunction(45%). The incidence of peritonitis 1(9%)(P=0.01).
Recovery of renal function after peritoneal dialysis found in 42 patients Survival rate among these patients was 97.6% (p<0.001) .Overall mortality was 22%. The most common cause of death was septicemia in (57%) of patients.
Conclusions: Because of its simplicity and feasibility, acute PD is still an appropriate treatment choice for children with ARF
Background: Acute pancreatitis is an acute inflammatory condition. It's not an uncommon disease, in both the developed and developing countries, causes high morbidity and mortality, and inflicts a heavy economic burden. Severe acute pancreatitis is present in up to 25% of patients with acute pancreatitis, with considerable mortality. Changes in the management of acute pancreatitis in the last 2 decades contributed to reduce the mortality.
Objective: was to review the diagnosis and management and outcomes of patients with acute pancreatitis of patients with acute pancreatitis in Al- Karama teaching hospital.
Patients and Methods: This prospective study included 63 patients

Therefore, this study was conducted to isolate Salmonella from 350 stool samples taken from children under five years in age, suffering from diarrhea during the period from March 2019 to March 2020 in Tikrit city / Iraq. The results showed the possibility to isolate ten isolates of Salmonella enterica subsp. Enterica, an infection rate, represents 2.875% of the total rate of patients who suffer from diarrhea. The virulence genes were investigated for ten isolates of S. enterica subsp. enterica, the result is that all isolates possessed the genes stn, invA, lpfA with an appearance percentage of 100%, whi

years of experience.
Methodology: A quasi-experimentai study was carried out at the peritoneal dialysis units of Baghdad teaching
hospitals, from April 2004 to April 2006.
٨ purposive sample of (50) nurse was selected from Baghdad teaching hospitals. These nurses working at the

Background: Ambulatory peritoneal dialysis
introduced by Popvich et al (13) in 1978 , consists of a
four to five hours lavage of peritoneal cavity with 2000
ml of glucose solution .It remains a useful method for
treating patients with end stage renal failure till renal
transplantation becomes possible.
Objectives: The aim of the study is to evaluate the
value of cytological changes of mesothelial cells in
dialysate patients.
Methods: Within one year period, 32 cytological
peritoneal fluid samples were collected from patients
with end stage renal failure regardless of the underlying
causes, admitted to the dialyzing unit in Kadimya
Teaching Hospital. Smears were prepared and fixed in
95 % ethyl al
Survival analysis is one of the types of data analysis that describes the time period until the occurrence of an event of interest such as death or other events of importance in determining what will happen to the phenomenon studied. There may be more than one endpoint for the event, in which case it is called Competing risks. The purpose of this research is to apply the dynamic approach in the analysis of discrete survival time in order to estimate the effect of covariates over time, as well as modeling the nonlinear relationship between the covariates and the discrete hazard function through the use of the multinomial logistic model and the multivariate Cox model. For the purpose of conducting the estimation process for both the discrete

Objectives: The objectives of this study were to compare immunoglobulin levels in children with nephrotic syndrome in relapse and healthy children, and to assess relationship between the degree of albuminuria and the mean concentrations of immunoglobulin.
Methods: We studied 60 children with nephrotic syndrome during January 2008 to January 2011 in the Pediatric Nephrology consultation clinic, Children Welfare Teaching Hospital –Baghdad Medical Complex –Iraq. Urine protein and blood samples were collected from the 60
Backgrounds: Despite advances in management of diabetes mellitus, it remains one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality, yet diabetic nephropathy is one of the main complications of diabetes mellitus. .Microalbuminuria is the beginning to the renal complications of diabetes mellitus; it is a significant index of early detection as well as monitoring the progression of diabetic nephropathy.

Results: The study results indicated that children with congenital heart disease have feeding difficulties, low
birth weight , repeated diarrhea , more than half of the sample taking medication for heart disease which cause
repeated vomiting, difficulty taking liquids and refusal of feeding or eating.(64.6%) of study sample suffered

Background: Bone marrow aspiration (BMA) and biopsy is a procedure that is used to evaluate the cause of abnormal blood test results, to confirm a diagnosis or check the status of severe anemia of unknown cause, to evaluate abnormalities in the blood's ability to store iron and also to diagnose infection.

Increased urinary NAG due to tubular damage could be used as a marker by a simple non invasive test for prediction of urinary tract problems like pelviureteric junction(PUJ) obstruction ,vesicouretric reflux(VUR) and pyelonephritis.
Objectives: to assess urinary NAG/ urinary creatinine (NAG/ Cr) ratio in children with different urinary tract anomalies an
