Background: The prevalence of deep veins thrombosis, complicating total knee replacement in Asian countries, has not been fully appreciated in comparison to western countries as there are few studies on that. There is an important correlation between the evidence of deep veins thrombosis in the lower extremity and likelihood of   pulmonary embolism later one . Because of its noninvasive nature, duplex ultrasound has become one of the initial dependable modality for the cheek out of deep veins thrombosis after total knee replacement  . Laboratory studies were conducted at the biological control unit, college of Agriculture, University of Baghdad to evaluate some biological aspects of the predator Chilocorus bipustulatus (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae), which is considered one of the most important predators on many insect pests, especially the scale insect, Parlatoria blanchardi, (Homoptera: Diaspididae) on date palms.      Depending on the high resistance to antibiotics, five isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and 7 isolates of Serratia  fonticola were selected out of 150 bacterial isolates from burn wards in Baghdad hospitals, which were later identified by VITEK2.
