Background: Outcome of management of patients with diabetic foot is difficult to predict. Assessment of variables in history , examination and investigations were analyzed with outcome of management and whether can be assigned as prognostic factors .
Methods: prospective study of 300 patients with diabetic foot in Baghdad teaching hospital during the period from April 2000 to March 2004,certain criteria was taken in history and examination, these were investigated and treated either by conservative procedure or amputation.
Results: most common age group was 50-59 years ( 33.3%). The male to female ratio was 2:1. Conservative debridement was performed in ( 60%) of patients while amputation was employed in (40%). amputation was performed in 604 in patient above 60 years and in(75%) of patients who had diabetic foot lesions for > 2 weeks, and in 90% of smokers for 10 years or more. Amputation was needed in (71%) in those who had history of previous ulceration and 72.5% of patients who had positive history of previous amputation. Amputation was needed in (88%) of those who had their temperature >38°C. in (91%) of patients who had diabetic foot lesion of Wagner grade>III and 91%. patients with X-ray findings of osteomyelitis.
Conclusions: Highly significant association was found between amputation with following variable , smokers > 10 years, patients with a temperature of > 38°C, Hypertension > 140/90 mmHg Wagner grade > III, white blood cell count of > 20,000/cc and positive foot X-ray findings. Slight significant association of amputation and the following variables: Age >60 years, duration of foot lesion >2 weeks, history of previous amputation, previous ulceration, negative pedal pulses, deformed feet and patients who had impaired normal vision.
Objectives: to assess chronic diseases patients’ knowledge toward stroke risk factors and warning signs, besides
determining the relationship between chronic diseases patients’ knowledge and their sociodemographical
characteristics.
Methodology: A descriptive study was carried out at public medical clinics which has started from December
2
nd, 2008 to August 8th, 2009. A purposive "non-probability" sample of (300) chronic diseases individuals who
were clients of Public Medical Clinics who have one or more of the following chronic diseases (hypertension,
diabetes mellitus, heart diseases, and previous stroke), in Baghdad city. The data were collected through the use
of a constructed questionnaire which consists
Background: Stroke is an acute neurologic injury and represents the 2nd leading cause of mortality worldwide, and also the most leading cause of acquired disability and morbidity in adults.
Objective: Effect and association between stroke and risk factors.
Type of the study: A retrospective study.
Methods: The study conducted on 312 patients in 2016, all data were collected from patients’ files from the emergency unit, which included basic demographic and disease characteristic, co morbid diseases, risk factors, final diagnosis.
Results: both previous stroke, ischemic heart disease was strong predictor of new

Objective: The aim of the study is to determine the clinical picture, risk factors associated with neonatal sepsis and to estimate short term outcome from neonatal sepsis and its relation to birth weight, gestational age, onset of sepsis and type of bacteria.
Patients and Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 80 neonates presented with sepsis who had been admitted to intensive care unit in Children Welfare Teaching hospitals in Baghdad over six months period between (15th of January 2008 to 15th of June 2008).A thorough history and physical examination were carried out, and samples o
Background:
Background: Appreciation of the crucial role of risk factors in the development of coronary artery disease (CAD) is one of the most significant advances in the understanding of this important disease. Extensive epidemiological research has established cigarette smoking, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension as independent risk factors for CADObjective: To determine the prevalence of the 4 conventional risk factors(cigarette smoking, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension) among patients with CAD and to determine the correlation of Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) risk score with the extent of coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with unstable angina /non ST elevation myocardial infarction (UA/NSTEMI).Methods: We

Dyslipidemia is commonly related to type 2 diabetes, and the atherogenic index of plasma is a strong marker to predict the risk of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease.
Objective: To study the association of atherogenic indices lipids in type 2 diabetic Iraqi patients with cardiovascular disease.
Patients and Methods: This clinical study was conducted at Baghdad Teaching Hospital/ Medical City-Baghdad from October 2022 to February 2023. Sixty type 2 diabetic patients were recruited for this study: 30 patients with cardiovascular disease and 30

denial of illness and need for treatment and no contact with family. So, the prevention of relapse
and readmission to hospital are crucial in mental health practice.
The present study is a descriptive-analytical study that was carried out from November 2nd
2006 through the end of 20 of April 2008.
Objectives: To assess the associated factors with the risk of relapse in schizophrenic patients at
psychiatric hospitals in Baghdad city.
Methodology: A purposive "non-probability" sample of (50) schizophrenic patient who hasd

Objectives: A cross sectional analytic study was carried out to identify the maternal risk factors which
contribute to occurrence of low birth weight, and to determine the statistical significant differences between low
birth weight and maternal risk factors.
Methodology: A purposive sample of (400) woman was selected from AL-Elwyia Maternity Teaching Hospital
