The Relationship Between Helicobacter Pylori Infection And Childhood Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura

Background: Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura , a disorder characterized by autoantibody mediated platelets destruction causing decreased number of circulating platelets manifest as bleeding tendency. Since the discovery of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori ) several studies have been published concerning a hypothetical role of this bacteria in idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.
Aim of the study: Evaluate the pathogenic correlation between H.pylori infection and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.
Patients and Method: A cross sectional study was done on 30 cases of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura admitted to the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology unit in ALKadhimiyia Teaching Hospital and 20 cases of sex and age matched healthy children as a control to determine the relation between H. pylori infection and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. The peak age for idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura was between ( 6-10 years) of age, (43.33%). Male : female ratio equal to 2:1 . ELIZA test was used to measure the serum IgG antibody titer against H. pylori , 5 cases of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura was found to be positive for H.pylori (16.67%)while the test was negative in all of the control group (100%) ,
Results: a result which is statistically highly s i g n i f i c a n t , p - value<0.05. Of the positive cases 3 (60%) was chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura and two cases (40%) was acute idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. Patients with positive test were older than those with negative test. The mean platelet count was less in the positive than those with negative test. A weak inverse correlation was found between platelet count and H.pylori serum antibody titer( r- value equal to - 0.13437). The test was sensitive in (20%) and specific in (100%) of cases.
Conclusion: H. pylori infection may play a role in the initiation of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura and eradication of H.pylori infection can cure idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura specially in chronic and resistant cases. The ELIZA test can be used as a screening test to detect H.pylori infection in children with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.

An Application for Smartphones and Computers to Diagnose and Control Potatoes Insects

Nowadays, a strong relationship between the agriculture sectors and digital technologies is really interesting. The article describes how recent intelligent technologies can improve agricultural fields. Mobile applications are software programs created on smartphones, tablets, and computers. Agricultural fields mainly represent the pillar of the economy and the business sector that fulfills the world's food requirements. The United States has a valuable rank in potato production, which depends on this production economically.

Nevertheless, so many insects affect potato yield production quantitatively and qualitatively. So, a smartphone App was created to help potato growers diagnose insects that directly attack potato cro

Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Compounds Containing of Imidazolidinone and Oxazepine Rings

The compound 3-[4Ì„-(4Ë-methoxy benzoyloxy) benzylideneamino]-2-thioxo-imidazolidine-4-one [III] was prepared from the cyclization of thiosemicarbazone [II] with
ethyl α -chloroacetate in the presence of fused sodium acetate. Treatment the later compound
with acetic anhydride yielded the corresponding 1-Acetyl-3-[ 4Ì„- (4Ë- methoxy benzoyloxy)
benzylideneamino] – 2 – thioxo -imidazolidine-4-one [IV]. 1,3-Oxazepine derivatives [V]a-d
and [VI]a-d are obtained from the reaction of compounds[III] and [IV] with different acid
anhydrides, in dry benzene. The FTIR and

Ecological and Geographical distribution of species and genera of Primulaceae in Iraq

The present research deal with ecological and geographical distribution of species and genera of Primulaceae in Iraq. The results were revealed that species distributed in the north , north-east and west of Iraq. Anagallis arvensis L. is the most prevalent species tolerant to different environmental conditions, while the species of Primula L. characterized as less widespread and limited in one District. In addition, the districts Rawanduz (MRO) and Sulaymaniyah (MSU) have ranked first in distribution of the species on geographical districts with (75%), while the districts southern desert (DSD) and Basra (LBA) in last place with (16.7%). Maps for geographical distribution for all species were illustrated.

Replication and attenuation of foot and mouth disease virus in chick embryo

This study includes replication and attenuation of foot and mouth disease virus type O which isolated from infected calves. Many passages for the virus in chick-Embryo were established as a substitute method to the tissue culture which is highly caustic in contrast to the chick embryo. The virus passed ten consequent passages which lead to the reduce of the titer of the virus from 106.53 TCID50/ 0.1 ml in cattle testis tissue culture to 103 TCID50/ 0.1 ml. the pathogenecity of attenuated FMD virus were also studied in both chick-embryo and guinea pigs. Using agar gel diffusion test precipitation antibodies was detected in guinea pig serum after 14 and 21 days post exposure to the attenuated virus. The inoculated guine

Odontogenic Cysts and Tumors of Maxilla and Maxillary Sinus (A Clinicopathological Analysis)

Background: Knowledge about the prevalence and distribution of pathologies in a particular location is important when a differential diagnosis is being formulated. The aim of this study was to describe the prevalence and the clinicopathological features of odontogenic cysts and tumors affecting the maxilla and to discuss the unusual presentation of those lesions within maxillary sinus.

Materials and Methods: A multicenter retrospective analysis was performed on pathology archives of patients who were diagnosed with maxillary odontogenic cysts and tumors from 2010 to 2020. Data were collected with respect to age, gender and location.

Result: A total of 384 cases was identified, 320 (83.3%) cases were diagnosed as odontogenic
