Back ground : Coronary artery diseases are not uncommon in the presence of right bundle branch block.
Aim : The aim of this study is to assess the findings of coronary angiography in patients with chest pain and right bundle branch block.
Methods : The study involved review of case sheets and coronary angiography of one hundred patients, who underwent coronary angiography due to chest pain suspected to have
coronary artery diseases (CAD) , fifty patients of them had right bundle branch block (RBBB) , the other fifty did not have RBBB , those 100 patients were presented to Ibin Al Bitar hospital
for cardiac surgery from January 2004 to June 2006. History, clinical examinations, electrocardiogram (ECG) , ECG exercise tests (EET) echocardiogram (ECHO) and coronary angiography had been performed.
Results : Mean age of patients was 53± 10.6 years, 84% were male , hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and smoking as risk factors were present as 30%, 32% and 48% respectively. 58% of
patients presented with chronic stable angina (CSA) while 42% with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), ECHO showed that left ventricular dysfunction (LVD) was present in 34%, EET was
positive in 11 of the 23 patients (47.8%) who were able to perform EET. Normal coronary angiography found in 20% of patients and there were no significant difference in coronary
angiographic findings between patients with and without RBBB.
Conclusion : RBBB of indeterminate age has no significant impact on clinical and haemodynamic characteristics of CAD patients and it may be incidental finding.
Background:
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, inflammatory autoimmune disorder that causes the immune system to attack the joints. It is a disabling and painful inflammatory condition, which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. RA is a systemic disease, often affecting extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and muscles.
Patients and Methods: Enzyme immunoassay for Determination of human TNF- , IL-1 and GM-CSF in serumsamples from50 patients with a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis
Results: of cytokines showed a significant increase in TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta and GM-CSF in patients with rheumatoid arthrit
Background: Laparoscopic surgery for
appendicitis is now a well established and
advanced method of performing general surgical
procedures.
Objectives: To compare the outcome of
laparoscopic and open appendectomies in terms
of operative time, analgesic requirement,
postoperative complications, hospital stay, return
to normal activity and condition of scar.
Methods: This prospective study was carried
out from 1stMay 2008-1st January 2010, involving
110 patients (45 male and 65 female) with
features suggestive of acute appendicitis were
divided into 45 patients laparoscopic
appendectomy (LA) group and 65 patients open
appendectomy (OA) group, after taking informed
consent. LA was done with the
Background: Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is a chronic musculoskeletal disorder characterized by wide spread body pain, chronic fatigue,
Background: Using Laparoscopic approach, Cholecystectomy is made hazardous by distortion of the anatomy of Calot's triangle by acute or chronic inflammation and dense omental adhesions. Laparoscopic subtotal cholecystectomy (LSTC) without cystic duct ligation is an alternative to conversion to open surgery in difficult cases.
Results: Fifty cases of LSTC were performed, 32 of them were males and the remaining 18 patients were females. The age of study group was ranged (18 – 75) years with a median of (46) year. The median operating time was about 90 min. and the mean duration of hospital stay was 7.3±2.2 days. There were 8 patients (16%) with postoperative bile leak, most of them recover s
Background: Renal disease results in significant disorder of hemostasis (bleeding diathesis or
hypercoagulable state).
Objectives: This study is to determine the changes in some hemostasis parameters in patients with
chronic renal failure and identify the effect of dialysis on these changes.
Patients and Methods: seventy five patients with end stage chronic renal failure were collected from
Baghdad hospital, a full detailed history and clinical examination were performed, 50 patients were on
maintenance weekly hemodialysis, and 25 patients were without dialysis.
Result: Bleeding time was significantly higher in patients with chronic renal failure who didn’t need
any type of dialysis, positive D-Dimer test. In so
ST segment, T wave changes, QT interval changes, and QTc dispersion are among the parameters used to diagnose ischemic heart disease. The increase in the QT dispersion can be caused by myocardial ischemia, among other heart diseases, whereas cardiac diseases such as coronary artery disease (CAD) can be diagnosed by observing an abnormally high QTc dispersion. This study aimed to evaluate the variations in the QTc dispersion (depolarization and repolarization) of surface electrocardiography as a result of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with chronic total occlusion. This study took place in the Iraqi Center for Heart Disease from October 2020 to February 2021. 110 patients who suffered from chronic occlusion of t

Neuron-derived neurotrophic factor [NENF], a human plasma neurotrophic factor, also increases neurotrophic activity in conjunction with Parkinson's disease-related proteins in Neudesin. Although Neudesin (neuron-derived neurotrophic secreted protein) is a member of the membrane-associated progesterone receptor (MAPR) protein subclass, it is not evolutionary related to the other members of the same family. The expression of Neudesin is found in both brain and spinal cord from embryonic stages to adulthood, as w Neudesin levels in Parkinson's patients with osteoporosis disease and Parkinson's patients without osteoporosis disease, as well as the relationship between Neudesin levels, Anthropometric and Clinical Features (Age, Gender, BMI) and

Hemodialysis centers in Baghdad appear to be taking measures with low adequacy and frequency of dialysis sessions, which can be a reason for decreased kidney functions. Therefore, the objective of this study focuses on the assessment of different aspects of hemodialysis for regular HD patients in Baghdad, including inflammatory markers (serum C-reactive protein, CRP, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate, ESR), dialysis dose, comorbidities, and demographic factors for a period of one year (2018), the assessment covered four major hospitals in Baghdad namely (Al-Kind
