In this study, some physical and mechanical properties of soil samples collected from the campus site of College of Science, University of Diyalahave been evaluated. All laboratory tests were performed according to the standards of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). The test results showed that the range of soil water content wwas (13.89%-16.34%) with an average of 15.44%. The specific gravity range was (2.58-2.77) with an average of 2.66. The range of Liquid Limit LL was (26.20-35.20%) with an average of 32.22%.The range of Plastic Limit PL was (18.63-23.24%) with average of 21.06%. An International Publisher for Academic and Scientific Journals The mucilage of white and black chia seeds were extracted and determining their contents of bioactive compounds such as tannins, glycosides, flavonoids, phenols, and studying their activity as anti-filamentary and anticancer. Results showed that tannins exist in white chia seeds with 35%while it is 38% in black seeds, flavonoids represent 0.98mg/ml in white chia seeds and 1.5 mg/ml for black seeds. Both kinds of seeds showed anti-filamentaryactivity, the inhibition ratio was 86.5% for white seeds and 97.3% for black seeds. The Bouguer gravity and magnetic RTP data were used to detect the depth of basement rocks in middle and south Diyala Province, east Iraq. The depth of the basement rocks was calculated by using the Source Parameter Imaging (SPI) method. New attempt is achieved to applied the SPI technique to the gravity values to estimate the depth of basement rocks. The depths of basement map derived from gravity data range 8-14 km, the depth of basement map derived from magnetic data range 9-13.5 km and the basement depth prepared by C.G.G, 1974 range 9-11 km.
