Evaluations of Intervention Program on Nurses` Practices about Care of Children with Diabetic Ketoacidosis
...Show More Authors

Objective(s): To assess the adequacy of mediation program on medical attendants practice toward care of kids with diabetic's ketoacidosis. Methodology: A quasi-experimental design that applied at teaching hospitals for pediatric in AL Ramadi city to establish the Effectiveness of Intervention Program on Nurses` Practices about Care of Children with Diabetic Ketoacidosis from 3th of March 2022 till 20 of March 2023. Non-probability (purposive) sample of (50), likewise was alienated into the study (experimental) group. The study group included (50) nurses non-randomly selected from AL-Ramadi Teaching Hospital.

A preliminary study has conducted in AL-Ramadi Teaching Hospital The whole number of nurses was (20) for 4 days, by using questions of the open-ended answers. The validity of the questionnaire and educational program are tested by (25) experts from related fields.

Results: Reliability of survey and program tried through a pilot investigation of It included (10) medical caretakers, non-randomly selected from AL-Ramadi Teaching Hospital (this sample was excluded from the original study sample) by using test-retest technique and Cronbach's Alpha measurement, the results for practice was (0.933).

The study findings have proved the effectiveness of the program through high percent obtained between the pre-test and post-test1 and post-test 2. It was sample study group results in pre-test is 31.76% (19) with regard to them on a not acceptable level, but post-test 1 is 77.04% (26) through esteem to them on a good level, and also post-test 2 remains 80.98% (24) with esteem to them on a good level.

Conclusions: The study concluded that the intervention program has significant effect on nurses practice about diabetic's ketoacidosis. It is improving nurses practice from poor to good practice after implementation of the intervention program.

Recommendations: the study has recommended that Training courses and workshops for nurses of the hospital teaching of pediatric regarding Diabetics Ketoacidosis care, increasing nurses' numbers especially those who hold nursing Bachelor's degrees to work at pediatric teaching hospitals for their ability and background.

Synthesis of new Schiff bases derived from [3-amino-3-C-cyano-3-deoxy-1,2:5,6-di-O-isopropylidene-α-D-allofuranose
...Show More Authors

Aromatic Schiff-bases are known to have antibacterial activity, but most of these compounds are sparingly soluble in water. The present work describes the synthesis of new Schiff-bases derived from branched aminosugars. Treatment of 3-Amino-3-Cyano-3-Deoxy-1,2:5,6-Di-O-Isopropylene-α-D-Allofuranose (1) with the aldehydes (2) under reflux in methanol afforded the Schiff-bases (3) in good yields. The new Schiff-bases were in accord with their NMR, IR spectral data and elemental analysis.

Oral health status, salivary physical properties and salivary Mutans Streptococci among a group of mouth breathing patients in comparison to nose breathing
...Show More Authors

Background: Mouth breathing can lead to introduce cold, dry unprepared air that insults the tissue of oral cavity, nasopharynx and lung, leading in turn to pathological changes in oronasal cavity, nasopharyngeal and other respiratory tissue, mouth breathing associated with nasal obstruction may lead to many health problems, in particular oral health problems such as inflammation of gingiva, oral dryness, change in oral environment that may decrease pH, salivary flow rate and increase bacteria and dental caries.Aims of the present study were to assess the oral health condition among mouth breather associated with nasal obstruction, including dental caries, oral cleanliness and gingival health condition as well as to evaluate the changes in s

A study to compare the cleaning efficiency of different irrigation systems for macro debris removal in instrumented canals (An in vitro study)
...Show More Authors

Background: Irrigation of the canal system permits removal of residual tissue in the canal anatomy that cannot be reached by instrumentation of the main canals so the aim of this study was to compare and evaluate the efficiency of conventional irrigation system, endoactivator sonic irrigation system,P5 Newtron Satelec passive ultrasonic irrigation and Endovac irrigation system in removing of dentin debris at three levels of root canals and to compare the percentage of dentin debris among the three levels for each irrigation system. Materials and methods: Forty extracted premolars with approximately straight single root canals were randomly distributed into 4 tested groups of 10 teeth each. All canals were prepared with Protaper Universal ha

The push out bond strength of bioceramic seal-er(Total Fill) after warm and cold obturation tech-niques An in vitro comparative
...Show More Authors

Background: The goal of a root canal treatment is three dimensional obturation with a complete seal of the root canal system. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the effect of two warm obturation techniques, warm vertical compaction (WVC) and, carrier based obturation technique Gutta Core (GC), versus two cold obturation techniques, cold lateral compaction (CLC) and, single cone (SC) on push-out bond strength of bioceramic sealer (Total Fill) at three different root levels. Materials and Methods: Forty extracted maxillary first molars teeth with a straight round palatal root canal and mature apices were selected for this study. After sectioning the palatal roots to 11 mm from the root apex, the canals were

Mesoporous activated carbon from eggshell waste via H₃PO₄ chemical activation and its application in the removal of Janus Green B dye
...Show More Authors

The main objective of this study was to evaluate the adsorption efficiency of two adsorbent materials, Iraqi chicken eggshells (ESh) and activated carbon (AC) derived from ESh powder for the removal of a cationic dye (Janus green B; JGD) from aqueous solution. Activated carbon was synthesised from ESh using a simple chemical activation method using phosphoric acid as the activating agent. The physicochemical properties of the adsorbents were characterised by the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) method, FT-IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), and point of zero charge (pHpzc). The results of BET analysis confirmed th

Transboundary hydrogeology and controlling factors of euphrates water chemistry: Insights from hydrochemistry, stable isotopes, and residence times in Syria and Western Iraq
...Show More Authors

Arid and semi-arid climates are critical for water security in sustainable river systems. The Euphrates River in western Iraq has been increasingly stressed by both geogenic and anthropogenic factors. This study analyzed hydro-geochemical processes, recharge dynamics, and groundwater flow modeling in western Iraq. Additionally, stable isotope tracing (δ¹⁸O, Cl⁻) integrated with hydro-chemical parameters was used to assess water quality and river-aquifer connectivity in both Syria and western Iraq. A total of 144 groundwater samples were collected annually across 12 stations in western Iraq. Surface water and groundwater data were collected from previous studies at 13 stations in Syria. Results revealed slightly alkaline freshwater con
