Objective: The study aimed to determine quality of life domains for adult patients with limbs loss and to identify
the association between quality of life domains and demographic characteristics and medical information.
Methodology: A descriptive study was carried out at Baghdad artificial limb center, Al-Salam medical
rehabilitation center, Al-Ghadeer medical rehabilitation center and the rheumatoid and medical rehabilitation
center for the period from September 2007 to April 2008. A purposive ''non- probability'' sample of (200)
patients with limbs loss. Questionnaire form was constructed for the purpose of the study. Data were collected
through the application of the questionnaire and interview technique. Data were analyzed through descriptive
statistical approach (frequency, percentage and mean of score) and inferential statistical approach (chi-square,
standard deviation and correlation coefficient).
Results: The findings of the study have revealed that most of patients with limb loss are with mean age (46.15)
years, mostly males, living in urban residence, married, living in nuclear family and primary school graduate
with retired occupation, but insufficient monthly income in spite of living in owned house. Most of the patients
with limb loss have changed their jobs and reduced the hours of working. Most of them have lost their limbs for
(1- 5) years with unilateral lower limb and below-knee; walking with crutches and the trauma was the most
common cause of limb loss. However, most of them visit rehabilitation centers and get benefits from
rehabilitation.
Recommendations: The study recommended that educational program for newly limb loss for physiotherapy
and occupational therapy and further studies can be conducted on large sample size about adaptation of the
patients with limbs loss.
Sustainable agriculture requires eco-friendly inputs to improve crop productivity while reducing reliance on chemicals. Coco peat enhances root growth and nutrient availability, while fermented fish waste and sugarcane juice provide essential nutrients and growth stimulants. To further evaluate, a study was carried out during the fall season of 2024–2025 at University of Baghdad – Al-Jadiryah campus. Following standard field preparation, cauliflower (Brassica oleracea cv. Casper) saplings were transplanted on October 15, 2024, into raised beds in double rows (75 cm × 40 cm). The trial was conducted as a 5×3 factorial experiment in a split-plot RCBD, with coco peat as the main plot and foliar sprays as subplot. The main plot co

The samples were first extracted using acetonitrile:water (50:50, v/v) and purified by using a C18 solid phase extraction-based clean-up column. Then, pre-column derivatization for the analyte using ortho-phthaldialdehyde in the presence of 2-mercaptoethanol was carried out. The developed method involved optimization of mobile phase composition using methanol and phosphate buffer, injection volume, temperature and flow rate. The liquid chromatographic separation was performed using a reversed phase Chromolith® RP-18e column

Bacterial isolates were identified using conventional biochemical tests and then identification was confirmed by using Vitek-2 compact system. Pseudomonas aeruginosa recovery was 60 isolates in this study. These isolates were analyzed for antibiotic susceptibility by the disk diffusion test (DDT) according to Kirby Bauer's method using seven clinically important antipseudomonal agents: carbapenems (Imipenem and Meropenem), pencillins (Piperacillin), cephalosporins (Ceftazidim), monobactam (Aztreonam), quinolones (Ciprofloxacin) and aminoglycosides (Gentamicin). Seventy samples of diabetic patients Type II male and females with age about (35-60) years were taken including 44 samples for group one (24 male, 20 female) who used herbs accompanied with chemical treatment (drugs) and 26 samples for the second group (13male and 13 female) who used herbs only. These groups were compared with 60 samples obtained from healthy persons (29 male, 31 female) at the same age of patients as a control group. Effect of age and treatment fo

Extensive evaluation of 76 women with polycystic ovary syndrome compared with 25 fertile women as control group was achieved by routine investigations and hormonal study of each female which were done in one period during the menstrual cycle. Then the women with PCOS have been divided into 2 groups according to their menstrual cycle (irregular menstrual cycle) during assessing their hormonal profiles as follow:- 1- (54) Patients with oligomenorrhea. 2- (22) Patients with menorrhea. This study shows that the women with PCOs have different clinical features taken from a history of disease of all of the women. Those features were distributed as follow: 57.92% of them suffer from hirsutism. 19.24% suffer from irregular menstr
