Effectiveness of an Intervention Program on Nurses’ Performance toward Neonatal Endotracheal Suctioning Procedure
...Show More Authors

Objective(s): To evaluate nurses’ Practice toward neonatal endotracheal suctioning procedure, and to determine the effectiveness of the interventional program on nurses’ practices, as well as to find out the relationship between nurses’ practice and their demographic characteristics.

Methodology: A Pre-experimental, one group design, was carried out to achieve the objectives of the current study using the evaluation approach and the implementation of the education program for the period from January 17 to June 31, 2022. A non- probability, purposive sample of (24) nurses were selected from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Pediatric Teaching Hospital/ Medical City Department. A checklist was developed consists of two parts: part I: Nurses’ demographic characteristics, and part II: Evaluation of nurses' Practice toward neonatal endotracheal suctioning procedure which consist of three domains (60) item, using the observation technique for data collection….

Results: The results of the data showed that all of the (24) neonatal intensive care unit nurses had an Inadequate level of Practice in the pre-test, while the results of the post-test after implementing the program was adequate through apply all steps the suctioning procedure.

Conclusions: The intervention program, after its application, had a positive and effective effect on the practices of neonate intensive care unit nurses. While there was a clear change for the better in their practices after apply the program.

Recommendations: The researcher recommends the implementation and generalization of the interventional program for nurses' practices and its inclusion in the nursing curriculum. It also recommends that the Ministry of Health appoint and distribute university degree holders only in all neonatal intensive care units and compulsory nurses to participate in training courses intensively and continuously.

Understanding the Role of Nanosilica and Nanoalumina on Hot Mix Asphalt Performance
...Show More Authors

This study explores the role of nanomaterials in the performance of asphalt binders and mixtures. Two commonly available nanomaterials, i.e., nanosilica (NS) and nanoalumina (NA), were used at contents of 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8% by weight of asphalt binder. A set of experiments was carried out at the binder level to investigate properties such as penetration, softening point, aging-related mass loss, nanomaterial dispersion (storage stability), and workability (rotational viscosity). In addition, the suitability of NS and NS was also assessed through the testing of nanomodified asphalt mixtures, which focused on Marshall properties, the resilient modulus, moisture susceptibility, permanent deformation, and fatigue resistance. The findings in

THEORETICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THERMAL PERFORMANCE OF CLOSED WET COOLING TOWER
...Show More Authors

Thermal performance of closed wet cooling tower has been investigated experimentally and theoretically
in this work. The theoretical model based on heat and mass transfer equations and heat and mass transfer balance equations which are established for steady state case. A new small indirect cooling tower was used for conducting experiments. The cooling capacity of cooling tower is 1 kW for an inlet water temperature of 38oC, a water mass velocity 2.3 kg/m2.s and an air wet bulb temperature of 26oC. This study investigates the relationship between saturation efficiency, cooling capacity and coefficient of performance of closed wet cooling tower versus different operating parameters such wet-bulb temperature, variable air-spray water fl

On the Performance of a Composite Right Left Hand Electromagnetic Bandgap Structure
...Show More Authors

This paper presents the design and analysis of composite right left hand (CRLH) electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structure. The proposed unit cell is consistent of a dielectric substrate with dimensions of 5×5×1 mm 3 made of FR4-Epoxy with εr = 4.4 underneath of a conductive patch with dimensions of 4.4×4.4mm 2 . The unit cell is structured to perform a negative permittivity (ε) and negative permeability (µ) in different bands. The proposed unit cell is developed to 5G systems in the sub-6GHz bands. In this work, a complete analysis of the unit cell in terms of Sparameters, constitutive parameters and refraction index are evaluated using HFSS simulation package based on Finite Element Method (FEM).

Simulation and experimentation study on the performance of metal hydride storage vessels
...Show More Authors

This paper details the process of designing, analysing, manufacturing, and testing an integrated solid-state hydrogen storage system. Analysis is performed to optimise flow distribution and pressure drop through the channels, and experimental investigations compare the effects of profile shape on the overall power output from the fuel cell. The storing of hydrogen is given much attention in the selection of a storage medium, and the effect of a cooling system to reduce the recharging time of the hydrogen storage vessel. The PTFE seal performed excellently, holding pressure over 60 bar, despite requiring changing each time the cell is opened. The assembly of the vessel was simple and straightforward, and there was no indication of pressure

Investigation on Field Performance of Plowing and Harvesting Potatoes in Southern Baghdad
...Show More Authors

This field experiment, was conducted to investigate a comparison of two methods for harvesting potatoes: mechanical and handy when using moldboard and chisel plow for primary tillage and three different distances for planting tubers in the rows 15, 25, and 35 cm in silt clay loam soil south of Baghdad. The factorial experiment followed a randomized complete block design with three replications using L.S.D. 5 % and 1 %. Mechanical harvest recorded the best valid potato tubers at 88.78 %, marketable yield of 31.74 ton. ha-1, efficiency lifted 95.68 %, tubers damage index 28.41, speeding up the harvesting process and reducing time and effort. Handy harvest gave the least damage to potato tubers, 6.02 %, and unlifted potato tubers, 4.32 %. Howe

Optimization photodetection performance: investigation of doping effect on PVA/Y2O3 composite material
...Show More Authors

In this work, the photodetection performance of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) nanofibers and its composite with yttrium oxide (Y2O3) at different concentrations (2.5, 5, 10) wt% are examined deposited on p-type Si with (111) orientation. Electrospinning technique was used to create nanofiber composites. Adding Y2O3 significantly impacts the PVA nanofibers where ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy optical absorption energy gap decreases with increased concentration (2.8, 2.6, and 2.3) eV. X-ray diffraction was used to investigate crystal structure, which is cubic structure. The chemical composition study was conducted using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) spectra, which revealed the stretching vibrations related to the Y-O bon

Effect of Ginger Powder Addition in Broiler Chicken Diets on Productive Performance
...Show More Authors

The purpose of this research was to examine the impact of varying doses of ginger powder on broiler productivity. There were 180 commercial strain Ross 308 day old chicks utilized in the experiment, and each chick was weighed and allocated randomly among four treatments. Three different treatments were tested, each with a replication of 15 chicks. The diet was supplemented with 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0g/kg of ginger powder, respectively, as a control. As compared to the other treatments, the control group had considerably higher body weights, weight growth, feed intake, and feed conversion ratio. Ginger powder use was shown to have a detrimental impact on growth in this investigation.
