Effectiveness of an Educational Program on Nurses- midwives' Knowledge about Pain Management during Labor in Baghdad Maternity Hospitals
...Show More Authors

Objectives: To assess nurses-midwives' knowledge about pain management during labor before and after implementation of educational program and to determine the effectiveness of educational program on nurses-midwives' knowledge about pain management during labor in Baghdad Maternity Hospitals.

Methodology: A quasi-experimental design has been conducted during the period of (February 27th 2019 through 2nd June 2019) on non-probability sample (purposive) consists of (44 Nurses/midwives') who are work in delivery room, the sample was exposed to pretest, educational program, posttest. The study was conducted in three Directories, (Baghdad Teaching Hospital) at medical city health directorate, (Al-Elwia Maternity Teaching Hospital, Ibn Al -Balidy for Maternity and Pediatric Hospital, Fatima Al-Zahra for Maternity and Pediatric Hospital) at AL-Russafa/Health directorate, and (Al –Karckh Maternity Hospital and AL - Yarmouk Teaching Hospital - Maternity Department) at Akarkh/Health Directorate. Questionnaire has been used as a tool of data collection. Data were analyzed through the application of descriptive and inferential statistical data analysis approach through the use of (SSPS) version 22.0 and Excel system.

Results: The results of the study revealed that highest percentage (25%) of the nurses-midwives' are (20-24) years old, (77.3%) of the sample were skilled midwives and there is a  significant correlation between pretest and posttest periods after the implementation of education program for nurse- midwives regarding knowledge  about labor pain and non-pharmacological management in reducing labor pain in pregnant women.

Recommendations: The study recommended in-services education for the nurses- midwives' regarding knowledge of the current evidence, and provides experience in the skills necessary to fulfill their responsibility to support pain management during labor and  training primary health care nurses in improved pain management is important part of multi-faced approach towards improving and helping women's to reduce pain during labor.

A new Schiff base ligand [L] [3-methyl-9,10 phenyl -6,7 dihydro-5,8 –dioxo-1,2 diazo –cyclo dodecu 2,11-diene ,4-one ] and its complexes with (Co(II), Ni(II), Cu (II), Zn(II) and Cd(II)) were synthesis. This ligand was prepared in three steps, in the first step a solution of salicyladehyed in methanol reacted under refluxed with hydrazine monohydrate to give an (intermediate compound 1) which reacted in the second step with sodium pyruvate to give an (intermediate compound 2) which gave the ligand [L] in the three step when it reacted with 1,2- dichloro ethane. The complexes were synthesized by direct reaction of the corresponding metal chloride with the ligand. The ligand and complexes were characterized by spectroscopic methods [IR, UV-

Psychological Toughness and its Relationship to Some Coordination, Physical Abilities and Accuracy of Some Basic Skills Performance Among the Iraqi Junior National Handball Team Players
...Show More Authors

The aim of the research is to identify psychological toughness and its relationship to some coordination, physical abilities and accuracy of some basic performance skills among the players of the Iraqi junior national handball team players. The hypothesis is the existence of a correlation between psychological toughness, coordination, physical abilities, and the accuracy of some basic skills performance among the players of the Iraqi junior national handball team players. The descriptive approach in the style of correlational relations used to suit the research problem, as the community was determined by (18) players for the Iraqi junior national handball team players, while the sample was (14) players, and the samp

SYNTHESIS AND SPECTROSCOPIC CHARACTERIZATION OF NEW HETEROCYCLIC COMPOUNDS DERIVATIED FROM 1-(4-AMINOPHENYL) ETHAN-1-ONEOXIME AS A STARTING MATERIAL WITH EVALUATE THEIR BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY
...Show More Authors

ABSTRACT : This research involves the synthesis of five to seven heterocyclic compounds starting with Schiff’s bases which derived from oxime as a starting material. 1.3-oxazepine derivatives were prepared from adding different anhydrides to the Schiff bases, tetrazole and thiazolidinone derivatives synthesized from add sodium azide and thioglycolic acid to the same Schiff’s bases as a five members ring. Pyrimidine derivatives were prepared after the reaction of the azomethine group with acetyl chloride and then urea and thiourea to synthesis on derivatives contain the six members ring. Another step included identified and confirmed these compounds by FT- IR, 1HNMR, TLC and 13CNMR finally, step included the assay of biological activity

The present work includes the preparation and characterization of{Co(II) , Ni(II), Pd(II), Fe(III) , Ru(III),Rh(III), Os(III) , Ir(III) , Pt(IV) and VO(IV)}complexes of a new ligand 4-[(1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-3-pyrozoline-5-one)azo]-N,N-dimethylanline (PAD). The product (PAD) was isolated, studies and characterized by phsical measurements,i.e., (FT-IR), (UV) Spectroscopy and elemental analysis(C.H.N). The prepared complexes were identified and their structural geometric were suggested in solid state by using flame atomic absorption, elemental analysis(C.H.N), (FT-IR) and (UV-Vis) Spectroscopy, as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements . The study of the nature of the complexes formed in( ethanolic solution) following t

Simple and Rapid Method For Estimate of Propranolol With Bi (III) Via Long-Distance Chasing Photometer (NAG-ADF-300-2) Utilization Continuous Flow Injection Analysis
...Show More Authors

A simple, sensitive and rapid method was used for the estimate of: Propranolol with Bi (III) to prove the efficiency, reliability and repeatability of the long distance chasing photometer (NAG-ADF-300-2) using continuous flow injection analysis. The method is based on a reaction between propranolol and Bi (III) in an aqueous medium to obtain a yellow precipitate. Optimum parameters were studied to increase the sensitivity for the developed method. A linear range for calibration graph was 0.1-25 mmol/L for cell A and 1-40 mmol/L for cell B, and LOD 51.8698 ng/200 µL and 363.0886 ng /200 µL , respectively to cell A and cell B with correlation coefficient (r) 0.9975 for cell A, 0.9966 for cell B, RSD% was lower than 1%, (n = 8) for the

The city of Karbala is one of the most important holy places for visitors and pilgrims from the Islamic faith, especially through the Arabian visit, when crowds of millions gather to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein. Offering services and medical treatments during this time is very important, especially when the crowds head to their destination (the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (a.s)). In recent years, the Arba'in visit has witnessed an obvious growth in the number of participants. The biggest challenge is the health risks, and the preventive measures for both organizers and visitors. Researchers identified various challenges and factors to facilitating the Arba'in visit. The purpose of this research is to deal with the religious an
