Abstract : Objectives: The aims of the study are to identify the condition causes respiratory failure in both sex and to find out the relationship between prognosis and mortality rate with condition causes respiratory failure. Methodology : Descriptive study was carried out in Al- Yarmook Hospital in Respiratory care Unit in Baghdad from the 1st of August 2003 to 1st of August 2004, the sample consist of 300 patients (150) males and (150) females, descriptive and inferential statistics procedures were applied to the data analysis Results : The results shows that 24.4% of patients effect by post-operative complications and trauma as a results of respiratory failure , 11.3% from effected patients at age group (70-79)years and there are no significant relationship between prognosis and mortality rate with type of condition causes respiratory failure . Recommendation : The study recommends to preparing and training of recovery unit staff for respiratory resuscitation and patient care. Keyward : Respiratory Failure, Causes, Nursing.

This study investigates the influence of structural geometry, elastic modulus, mass density, and section dimension uncertainty on the stochastic earthquake response of portal frames subjected to random ground motions. The North-South component of the El Centro earthquake in 1940 in California is selected as the ground excitation. The present study included the effect of chronic exposure for two concentrations of NaC? salt on the biology of fresh water zooplankton species Brachionus calyciflorus (from ^otifera). We report here the observation of 16 µm superradiance laser action generated from optical pumping of CF4 gas molecules (which is cooled to 140 Kº by a boil-off liquid-N2) by a TEA-CO2 laser 9R12 line. Output laser pulses of 7 mJ and 200 ns have been obtained.

Evaluate the acute and chronic toxicity of Ruta Chalepensis aerial part aqueous extract used in folk medicine in Iraq in Albino Wistar male and female rats. The study of chronic toxicity at the doses 100, 300 and 600mg/kg body weight in male and female rats for 90 days, recorded no mortality. Treated animals showed a normal weight change compared with control. The parameters of male fertility showed a significant decrease in the weight of testis, epididymis and seminal vesicle as well as a reduction in the number and the motility of spermatozoids at treated groups by the doses 300 and 600 mg/kg body weight compared to control group.
