Background: Early studies have shown that agricultural soil contains various types of microorganisms, especially bacteria, including coliform bacteria (Salmonella, Shigella, Klebsiella, Escherichia coli, and Enterobacter) with fecal Gram-positive bacteria like Enterococcus faecalis. Therefore, the current study aimed to investigate the contamination of Iraqi agricultural soils with pathogenic fecal bacteria (Escherichia coli and Enterococcus faecalis) and study the antibiotic sensitivity patterns of soil-isolated bacteria because it is a dangerous indicator when transmitted to humans.

Objectives: The study aims at:
1- Measuring the level of lead in workers’ saliva and blood in the factory.
2- Studying the correlation between the saliva lead level and the infection that caused by microorganisms, isolation and
identification.
3-Studying the influence of high blood lead level on the total white blood cells.
Methodology: This study has been conducted for the period from March 15th, 2010 to May, 20th
, 2010. A total of (60)
saliva and blood samples were collected from workers in batteries industry factory in Baghdad and another (20) samples
were collected as a control group. Lead level had been measured in blood and saliva samples, then microorganisms were
isolated the from the saliva samples.

Abstract
In this study the radon gas concentration in air in Al - Haswaa city in province of Baghdad in Iraq have been calculated using CR-39 solid–state nuclear track detector technique. A total of 8 samples selected from 8 region in Al – Haswaa city in province of Baghdad have been placed in the dosimeters for 30 day. The average radon gas concentration was found to be 486.26 Bq/m3 which is lower than the standard international limit (1100 Bq/m3). The potential alpha energy concentration and annual effective dose have been calculated. A proportional relationship between the annual effective dose and radon gas concentration within the studied region has been certified.
