The sample is divided into 27 patients who received the nursing educational program (study group) and 28 patients who continued to receive regular care (controls). Based on previous research methods, were followed-up for 3 months after surgery. .To evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention education program , two major instrument were used, these instrument included knowledge test and self-efficacy check list. The knowledge given to the patient in study group prior to the implementation of the intervention program and re-tested at discharge and on three months after the operation and in the control group given knowledge test pre operative and re-tested at discharge and on three months after the operation. Self efficacy check list it was assessed at time of discharge and at first, second, and third month after discharge for the study and control groups. (6, 12) The result revealed that marked improvement in health status of the study group compared to the control group. The patient’s recovery was determined by percentages of indices of self-efficiency, and knowledge level. The Evaluation of the immune response in Golden Hamsters experimentally infected with Leishmania donovani was determined in this study, particularly, the cellular immune response. Follow up has maintained to determine the Delayed Type of Hypersensitivity using skin test both in infected and control lab animals. Chicken red blood cells were used as a parameter to evaluate the immune system; they are dull and have the ability of immunization. Two concentrations of chicken R.B.C were examined to determine which gives the higher titration in Hamsters and those were 1.5 X 109 cell/ml and 3 X 109 cell/ml , the second concentration gave the maximum titration where then used in this work. After sensitization with Chicken R.B.C for both in

Distribution of HPV Genotypes 16 and 18 among Resected Tonsillar Tissues from Pediatric Patients Operated for Non- Oncologic Nasopharyngeal and Palatine Tonsillar Hypertrophies
...Show More Authors

Background: Recent advancements in molecular techniques have identified over 450 genotypes of Human Papillomavirus (HPV), classified into low- and high-oncogenic risk categories. The rise in high-oncogenic risk HPV genotypes has been linked to various cancers, including those affecting the oral, oropharyngeal, and nasopharyngeal regions in both pediatric and adult populations. Methods: In this study, a cohort of 102 tonsillar tissue samples was included. This comprised 40 specimens from pediatric patients aged 4 to 9 years with nasopharyngeal adenoid hypertrophies, and 42 specimens from pediatric patients aged 5 to 12 years with palatine tonsillar hypertrophies. Among the 82 tonsillar tissue samples analyzed, 38 were from pediatric patients

Abstract. In this research, the uranium concentration in (16) water samples collected from some agricultural areas surrounded with AlTuwitha nuclear site in Baghdad-Iraq was measured by using a CR-39 detector. The concentration of uranium in this study was from (0.6 ± 0.33mg/l) to (2.51 ± 0.49 mg/l), and the weighted average for the concentrations (1.262 ± 0.402 mg/l). The results showed it is a concentration of uranium level in water samples studied is higher than the allowed limit recommended by WHO and ICRP.
